Hawkin looked up. "Well, there's some fireworks up there… Colliding stars. Kind of looks like the fourth of July…"
Off in the distance, Luis saw cosmic flares appearing in the sky. "What are they doing?" He wondered out loud, squinting at the sky.
Kylie sat down inside of the shadow, feeling immensely tired. A couple tears rolled down her face. She hated Hawkin. So much.
"We should probably give the thing back," she mutters and hands the tiara back, the shadows moving away from Kylies head.
Desiree fingered the locker against her neck. It was comforting, strangely, in an unfamiliar way. Fortunately her headache had worn off, and she was focused on smoothing out what was left of the explosions and falling asteroids. She realized they probably just lost control of their emotions, but if this happened in a big city it could be considered a catastrophe. We need to handle ourselves better she mused. Gently waving a hand, the sand trickled back into the sea, the soil pushed through the debris, and the asteroids… well… they were everywhere. But she did the best she could. No one needed a news station reporting falling asteroids and explosions.
Hawkin looked down at his fingers. They were already starting to blister. He made his face into a hard line. He muttered to himself, "This is going to slow me down for a little bit… I wonder if anyone has the ability to heal maybe?"
Kylie’s tiara glinted above her head, and the shadows cleared. Kylie took it and set it on her head again, standing shakily and glaring at Hawkin. The flares stopped, but her anger didn’t.
Hawkin saw the smoldering glare that Kylie was giving him. He said really loudly, "I think this is my cue to leave…" Hawkin used a small explosion as a distraction, and got out of the plane, and ran as fast as he could into the woods. He knew the terrain, so he moved faster through it that others.
"Okay, I'm going to go find shelter. I think I saw a large cave somewhere." Rox mutters awkwardly, backing away with her shadows following closely behind her.
After about three minutes of a full on sprint, Hawkin came across a large cave. He darted inside, to catch his breath.
Kylie wanted to track Hawkin down and hurl him and his explosions into space, but she took a deep breath and slumped into the pilot’s seat of the plane.
Gosh diddly dang it, can Hawkin NOT explode everything in sight? Exasperated, Desiree picked up the pace as she wandered to the wrecked plane. Mournfully thinking of all the passengers on the plane made her almost self-conscious of her power.
Luis followed Desiree, realizing that she seemed to know what she was doing. If she didn't, then she faked it pretty well. He eventually came across the wreckage of the plane, causing his stomach to twist into knots. Please say that no one died….
Kylie heard people approaching and stepped out of the plane. Upon seeing Desiree and Luis, she waved them over.
Hawkin walked and slumped over against a wall of the cave and slid down it. He sat, and let the breeze dry his sweat. He sat and thought, "Man, this is a nice breeze… nice and cool, and it smells like - like fresh water. Where is this breeze coming from?" Hawkin stood up and narrowed his eyes. He darted back out side, and grabbed a stick. He took off his necklace, and used to magnesium and flint to set the stick on fire. He put the necklace back on, and took the flaming stick, and walked back into the dark of the cave, not knowing what he would find…
Very very cautiously Desiree walked inside, practically bracing herself for bodies. But it seemed most people had jumped out of the plane before it got there.
“I don’t think they would have survived the fall…” Kylie whispered. “I don’t even think some people would have jumped.”
"Well… where are they? Does someone have superpowers to send people to 5th dimensions?" Desiree only half-joked. But the reality quickly set in that… they were the only ones here. They had powers.
Hawkin walked back into the cave preparing to blow something up if something decided to jump out and attack him. He went toward the breeze, and the smell of fresh water. He soon came upon a huge chasm, with a large waterfall. "Where does this go?" Hawkin wondered.
Luis shook his head. "Can we get out of here? I feel like we'll be haunted by the ghosts of dead passengers any moment now." The crashed plane was making his stomach twist and turn inside him, nearly causing him to vomit. Just the thought of dead bodies on the ocean floor made him shutter.
“It’s okay. We’ll be okay.” Kylie took his hand reassuringly, then turned to Desiree. “Remember how Rigel said he didn’t have a power…but then his bag…imploded on itself?”
Hawkin backed up, and walked back the way he came. He wanted to find out where the waterfall led, but he didn't want to let anyone think that he had died either. So, he walked his way back to the front of the cave, and shouted as loud as he could to anyone that could hear him, "HEY GUYS! I FOUND SOMETHING YOU MIGHT WANT TO COME CHECK OUT…"
Kylie turned toward the sound, growling her next words. “Hawkin.”
"Yeah…" Desiree hesitantly replied. "But-" she was suddenly cut off by Hawkin screaming.
Hawkin rolled his eyes, knowing that everyone thought he was too impulsive. They were probably right too, but this thing, with the waterfall, he knew it had to be important. It just felt important.
