"Hey, calm down." He told Rigel while placing his hands on his shoulders, an arm length apart. "You're gonna be alright. Take deep breaths, remember where you are and who's here with you. Your name is Rigel and you take photos and you're not going crazy, okay?"
“I need a cig, I need a cig,” Rigel breathed, panic lacing every word, wild eyes finding Xander’s. It felt like latching onto a rock in a river of rapids. “Xander, gosh, Xander.”
"Hey, breathe in and think about yourself, who you are, who your family is, any pets. Hold it in, now think about where you are, what day it is, why you got on the plane, what you're doing here. Exhale, and think about what you can see, hear, feel, touch, taste. Do it with me." Xander said, not letting him go.
"I…I don't know how!" Luis exclaimed before frantically hitting the shadows with his hand.
Rox flinches as his hand goes through the shadow. "YOUR NOT HELPING!" she manages to yell.
"Well you're not telling me what to do!" He yelled, tugging at his hair with his hands. "Tell me how I can help!"
"I DON'T KNOW! IM TRAPPED IN SHADOWS AND HAVING A NERVE ATTACK!" She screamed, her chest hitching,
Luis nodded. "Alright….alright….just calm down. Think of something happy like…I don't know just think of something. Whatever makes you feel relaxed and calm."
She thought of the stars, of quiet libraries and book. Her breathing slowed down a bit , and so did the shadows.
Rigel stared into Xander’s eyes, breathing in and out. I’m okay. I’m okay. Rigel crumbled, burying his face into Xander’s shoulder, “Gosh, Xander, the plane was imploding around me and I didn’t know what to do and-“ Rigel choked on his own air, going back to focusing on breathing. I’m okay. I’m safe.
He smiled a bit, proud of himself for figuring out how to get rid of the shadows. "Good…just stay happy and you'll be fine."
"That is in the past and now you're fine. You survived and the worst that happened was you belly flopping in the water. You may be in pain, but look at the bright side of things." Xander rubbed his back in comfort and slightly leaned his head onto Rigel's.
“How is this happening? Is this actually real?” Rigel whispered quietly, finding comfort in Xander’s arms. Rigel knew it was greedy of him, but he couldn’t bring himself to pull away.
"Yea, yea it is." Xander answered, not wanting to let go. "But, we will find a way to deal with it."
“I don’t think I’m supposed to be alive,” Rigel said quietly, “That plane, the windows… it wasn’t natural.” None of this is natural. But Rigel felt like it needed to be pointed out nonetheless.
"I don't think any of us are supposed to be alive but we are and I'm glad for it. Yes, we will be shaken up from the whole thing, but we can only move forward from it." Xander kept his hold on Rigel, knowing that it was way too long for just friends but he couldn't help it.
Rigel nodded, finally forcing himself to pull away and look at the others, “What are we supposed to do now?”
"I don't know but we will figure it out." Xander said while looking into Rigel's eyes.
Kylie landed with a giant thump - but not where she should have. Instead of plopping onto the ground and dying, she landed picturesquely in a chair. A stone chair.
Upon closer inspection, it was glowing a reddish color and was shaped into a perfect chair. It was the thing she'd seen falling next to her.
An asteroid? What were the chances that it was perfectly chair-shaped, and that she was sitting in it, and that it hadn't killed her?
Desiree watched on as the surviving passengers discusses exactly how they did survived. Glancing at her own hands, she wondered what had happened. Did she control the soil but being lifted into shore? Hesitantly, she picked up the dirt, spreading it across her fingers. Will I ever be normal again?
Hawkin didn't know what to do. He was scared that if he tried to help other people, he would inadvertently cause them to explode.
Kylie looked up into the (mostly) bright blue sky. In a corner of her vision, she could see a small patch of darkness, with thousands of stars all clustered together, as if they were looking down at her. As they 'saw' her looking - of course, that wasn't possible - they darted out of the darkness and it was covered by bright blue sky once more.
What the actual frick?
(So I'm gonna add a thing that once they learn how to use and control their powers, then they get an 'item' from their source of power i.e, fire gets it from a bonfire, etc, etc. This item can be anything: A tiara (I call dibs on tiara), zipper, anything. It isn't their source of power, it's just a gift that shows who they are.)
Elysia slowly stood off. Her shock slowly going away. She looked around and couldn’t find her family anywhere. She did see the girl she was sitting next to in he plane and walked over to her. “D-Do you know what happened?” (Did everyone on the plane die except for those who have powers?)
(everyone jumped out of the plane. Hawkin made it explode after everyone with powers was out.)
