"I'm fine. Since you're so curious, why don't I invite her over so you can meet her?" She smiled naturally, but the offer made her stomach clench and her throat burn.

"I'll call her right now. She should be getting off work," Natalie said thoughtfully. Nooooooo! He'll forget about you the second that he sees her…

"No, you should really meet her," Natalie insisted. She didn't know why, but Olivia had to come.

Natalie smiled and called Olivia.
"Hey Liv… Sorry, Olivia… Yes, I know… Hey, are you busy?" Long silence from Natalie. "Okay, well, I'm going to text you an- … Yes, an address… Yes, I did see it… Yes, it was pretty… No. Just come, okay… I wasn't…" Olivia hung up. Natalie watched until her sister left her lipstick near her boyfriend's mouth. "Hi, Liv," she croaked, standing up and walking quickly over to Jackson's side.

Natalie took a deep breath. "Olivia, this is my boyfriend. Jackson."

Olivia didn't even seem fazed. "So you're the boy who's going to get my sister to live her life," she remarked in a bemused tone.
"Liv," Natalie hissed.
Olivia laughed. "You can't say it's not true." She looked at Jackson with something hidden behind her eyes.

Olivia turned sharply. She quickly scanned Jordan. "No," she replied evenly, eyeing him with a steady gaze. For once, she was short on words.
