The princess nodded and said farewell to the kitchen workers before opening the wooden door and walking out into the hallway. She led Jack back where he had been standing at the beginning and turned left. There they could see Hadley, deciding where to continue. Walking a few more feet, she stopped infront if some beautifully intricate doors with coloured glass decor. She pushed open the doors and walked inside. There were two floors with a spiral staircase leading to the next level. "Oh, it seems the book keeper has taken the book and put it away. I will have to find it again. You are welcome to look around."
Would you like to
- Continue following the Princess
- Look around [this choice will require you to form your own thoughts]
- Go back outside
The maid smiled at her response. "What would you like to know?" She asked
- The forgotten Princess
- The kingdom
- The Plague
- Other [you choose]
[the Plague]
“I have to admit, I do not know much about this terrible disease that’s so devastated our people. Before I go on a quest to destroy the Plague, what can you tell me about it?”
[Turn to address the insistent voice?)
[Hadley goes up the stairs]
[look around]
Jack waved at Hadley on his way into the library. “Thank you, fair princess,” Jack said politely. “I think I will have a look around.” His eyes scanned the shelves full of books. He was a bit awed at the breadth of the library and took his time looking for a book before settling on a thick tome. He went to a sunlit chair and began reading.
(Is anyone else getting the glitch where everyone's response looks like 1 persons response? Like it looks like everyone's saying the same thing over and over XD)
"Well firstly my name is Melissa, Elizabeth would call me Melly. I do not know much about the Plague but this is what I do know." Melissa said
Flashback
A young man dressed in a very different, very fancy suit with a staff came into the town square with a caravan behind him. He taps open the boxes and out come strange creatures. A two headed Cat, a pink monkey, a horse with a horn growing out of its forehead, a winged cat, an owl that sang and a strange water animal with sparkling silver eyes. He made the animals dance and sing, fly and crawl and made them do strange things. The silent crowd stared, some with horror and some with amazement. The baker, in a fury, threw a barrel filled with rotted meats and vegetables, bones and fats. All that mess landed on top of the man and his fancy suit. The animals stopped singing and dancing and the man glared at the crowd. The animals started screeching as the man pointed his staff in the crowd. "May Misfortune let her eyes rest upon your kingdom, for an insult like that is far to great to forget. Sickness and sorrow will linger here till the end of time." He spoke, an almost hissing sound encased his voice as a bright light appeared and he disappeared, leaving a ravens feather in its place.
(yeah it keeps happening to me lol)
(Okay good it's not just me haha)
Hadley waved back at Jack as he walked by.
Rowan sighed in anger and whipped around ti find a well groomed man behind him. This man had an odd aura around him that made Rowan a little uncomfortable. The man looked up with a cool gaze and studied Rowan before smiling. " as I said before sir would you like some help preparing for your quest. As Weapons master it is my duty to make sure you are comfortably equipped for your quest so as I mentioned would you like me to prepare your bags?" He asked.
- Answer him [you choose your thoughts]
- Tell him off and turn back to the girl
- Apologize and leave
(Oh wow it’s actually a glitch and I’m not just hallucinating?? Splendid)
Elspeth nodded as Melissa explained the likely origins of the Plague, scribbling down the story in a small notebook with a stubby pencil. “Thank you very much, Miss Melissa,” she said with a little curtesy.
Hadley goes up the stairs to see something similar to an astronomy tower. Theres was a fancy device aimed up out of a window and a few books that were open. A young man was sitting in there midst, murmuring to himself and writing things down. Hadley cleared his throat but the man didn't seem to hear.
- Addres the man
- Peer through the telescope
- Go back down
[Hadley adresses the man]
The princess came back with the book and found Jack on one of the most comfortable chairs in the entire library . "I have found the book sir!" The girl called, bringing the book of the kingdoms history. In it was the same information that was revealed to the Lady by Melissa.
The man looked up and upon closer examination, revealed himself to be one of the knights that had brought them to the palace. "Oh, hello sir. Are you lost?" Hearing an answering in the negative, the guard hung his head. "My apologizes for assuming but I thought you would be getting ready at this point. Would you like a tour if this small tower?"
- Respond yes and take the tour
- Respond no and talk to the man
- Respond no and leave the tower
- Leave the tower to get ready for the quest
Jack looked up. “Thank you!” he exclaimed, taking it from her. “You are so kind.” He had no idea how to address her, so he ended the statement at that. He gave her a smile as he sat back down and opened the book.
(sorry for being impatient lol)
[Respond no and talk to the man]
[Answer him]
"Yes, thanks so much for your assistance," Rowan said, flashing a smile. "But I was actually helping this poor girl here, and it really was very rude of you to interrupt me, so I'm going to help her with this, and since you've been so very insistent about helping me, you can feel free to do that."
(Idk if I can do that but… eh?)
(They are your thoughts. I mean these are NPCs so they dont have a large part unless otherwise stated. I'll have to adjust my words a tiny bit but not much lol)
The young princess grabbed a stool and placed it behind Jack's chair, reading over his shoulder.
How do you respond after reading the information?
The man smiled and gestured to a stroll infront of him. "I apologize for the mess, the prince has been teaching to read and write. He has also been sharing with me his knowledge of the outside." He smiled, gesturing to the notes scattered.
- Read the notes
- Leave the tower
The man stepped back and smiled. "Of course sir, I will be waiting for you."
- Ask the girl about the man
- Help the girl then leave
- Do nothing and leave
