The knife flew right past him. "You would think maybe after the first warning, the victims might become a little more compliant." He swung the bat hard at Jacks head. He yelled over his shoulder, "And don't even think of running, girl, because there's nowhere for you to go." The other man was dead. The knife in his back had hit an artery, making him bleed out.
"911 what's your emergency?" "Yes? Hello!?" "What's your probem sweethea-" "My friends and I have been kidnapped!!! Oh God I think they're being killed right now, HELP US!!" She franticly screamed into the phone, crying. If the others died and she lived…. she would never forgive herself.
( Do you want me to let the bat hit his head and get knocked out, doge it, get hit but hit back…?)
Dusty could only slightly nod. She felt paralyzed in her condition.
((Whatever you want, this is your character. What would he do in this situation?))
Dusty moved her head towards Jack, "It's hopeless…."
Jack dodged most of the swing, but still got clipped in the head causing him to lose balance. “Dusty. Run. I can hold them off just get out of here.” He said between pants and stumbles. He swung back only to fall over a body. A body. He thought. His eyes went wide as he realized that he had killed the man. W-What have I d-done? He scrambled back and looked up at the other man. “Dusty. Run.” He said sternly, not knowing if he meant from himself or the man in front of him.
"I cant!" Dusty said trying hard to move .
Jack jerked his head in her direction, a fearful look falling upon his face. Taking a deep breath, he gathered all of his strength and swung a chain that had fallen in the chaos around the man’s neck. He used as much force as he could muster to try and knock the man out, only using the chain as a way to keep the man on the ground.
The man was getting more angry by the second. His eyes hardened and his face a mask of rage. His swings were aimed less, and more just hitting air. Suddenly, he stooped down, picking up the knife from his partners back, and threw it at Dusty.
"It's okay, just tell us who you are, and where you are." Aelin sprinted to the door and read off the address to the person. "And I'm A-Aelin Mattison…. Please get here soon! They're gonna kill them!!!" "Don't worry, a swat team is on the wa-" Aelin turned off the phone. She did what she had to do. The others would be safe soon. She picked up the knife she had carried with her, and charged into the basement.
As Jack held the man to the floor he saw as he aimed the knife at Dusty. Jack grabbed the chain and threw it to where the knife would be, hoping to stop it in it’s tacks and sprinting to where the knife was heading in front of Dusty as well.
Aelin burst through the doors, just in time to get a knife lodged in her arm from how off aim it was. She yelled out in pain, before ripping it out and tossing it to the floor. Despite the blood pooling out of her arm, she ran over to help Jack attack the man. he was still fighting, despite how hard he had been hit with the chain. Aelin got hit in the leg with the bat, but she gritted her teeth and continued fighting. "Jack, get Dusty and Donovan, I can hold him off, save yourselves, the cops are on their way." She pulls out her knife, her hands already coated in her own blood.
Jack quickly asses the situation before slinging Donovan over his shoulder, picking Dusty up bridal style, and running/limping them out to the yard where he could hear the police only a block away. He rested them down against a tree before sprinting back into the building to help Aelin.
Donovan had already lost so much blood, he was covered in his own. It poured from the crack in his skull and from the cut in his back.
