Amatiel landed on the roof of the strange square building Jay headed to every day, his light steps landing soundlessly. In a flash of shadows he was on the inside of the building, stood right in front of Jay.
"Sorry, but we aren't open yet." Jay muttered tiredly, looking down at his shoes. "I'm going to have to ask you to wait outside."
(He isn't visible)
(Oof, let me regarding write it.)
Jay continued to set up the stuff, feeding the birds and other animals. He felt like he was being watched, but he shrugged it off.
(S'alright)
Amatiel leaned over the counter he stood behind. "You're very beautiful, dear sir," he commented, wiping dust onto the floor. "I wonder why you trap yourself in this wild building every day."
(Not heard either ^^')
"Alright dogs, let's see how many people adopt you before realizing they don't have the money to support you." Jay muttered, he didn't really have anything against dogs, they were just smelly and too energetic.
(he's so bitter I love it)
Amatiel's light dimmed until he could barely see himself– what was in this man's heart that he lived so bitterly?
"My love," he murmured, approaching the man. "Why do you project such negativity. It is affecting my light, please, dimming my joy. We both deserve more, my love," he went on quietly, stroking his beloved's arm as he circled him.
Jay wrinkled his nose as he looked at the peeling paint on the backwall. "Dear lord, this place is more of a dump than my mental state." He chuckled darkly.
At that the young angel became no more than a flat disturbance of the air; if he had had a real heart, it would have been shattered.
"Oh, dear," Amatiel whined. "Don't say such things it hurts me!" He focused all his energy on bringing himself back into substantial light, causing a slight flicker in the man's emotions.
"This place is a fucking nightmare." Jay vined, vine may be dead but so is he, on the inside. God, he needed to stop inner monologuing in memes about how much he hated thus world
(Let's see how much me I can channel into my son.)
(asjsksj this is going to be great. Also, I read the dialogue in the appropriate voice)
Amatiel took a step back in shock. "Excuse me!" he gasped. "What a word! What, a, word!" He shook his head and tried to push the man, but his hand passed straight through his chest.
"I hope today is the day I get fired." Jay monologued out loud with a deadpanned wxspression. He opened the door and turned on the open sign with a sigh.
Amatiel watched him go, looking crestfallen. Just as he started for the man, a powerful tugging started in his core. Slowly but surely he was lifted of his feet and swept up in a powerful wind that came crashing into the shop, sending bags of food and glass tanks flying everywhere.
"LOVE!" Amatiel screamed, seeing the danger his love was indeed in— but before he had the chance to address his Earth man, he stood to see he was facing the Authority.
Jay jumped back and shrieked. "What the hell! What the fuck! What the everlasting gobstoppers! What the-" he didn't finish because the large human gorilla stormed in, observing the mess for about a minute before yelling. "You're fired!" Jay laughed and whooped. "Than, fucking God! I hate this place!"
The immense figure of heaving light rose to its feet, gazing down at Amatiel through his big dark eyes.
"You left the area," he asked Amatiel, though it wasn't posed as a question. The latter nodded meekly, on his knees.
"I'm taking a gecko with me, consider it my last paycheck!" Jay yelled, grabbing his one and only liked animal and it's needed things and yeeted himself out of that hell hole. "I'm going to name you Amatiel." He cooed at the small gecko.
A deep shiver ran through Amatiel's delicate frame, one he'd never before felt but that he was able to identify nonetheless: the shiver of acknowledgement. His name had been spoken by a mortal, and they'd been bonded through the power of a name.
The towering Authority that stood before the young angel felt it with equal strength. His head tilted down–
"You will not leave the sky, Amatiel. You will remain here until further notice as we fix the truths you've exposed."
Amatiel gasped, clutching his chest, barely even recovered from the feeling. His light dropped as disappointment and bitter sadness flooded his fragile soul.
"You can go next to Jeffery the snail, alright Amatiel? You'll be okay while I look for another job." He cooed more, walking up to his home and setting the small cage down next to Jefferys cage.
The feeling crashed in again, slightly lessened. Amatiel clawed his forward as the Authority started to walk away. "Please…" he wheezed. "My Lord… I love him…"
Conscious of its meaning in the angel realm, the Authority paused. "You love him?" Amatiel nodded slowly, his light shimmering with renewed hope.
"I do, my Lord."
"Amatiel…" the Authority sighed sadly. "If you manage to get him to fall in love with you," he sounded as though he was trying to stop himself from speaking. "He may stay."
Jay put some feed in Jeffreys cage and pulled out some for Amantiel. He ran his fingers over his smooth skill and left him alone to get used to his new home. Jay flopped into bed and called his sister. "Hey sis, yup, got fired, well, I quit. Are there any jobs open near you?" He asked, rolling his eyes at his sister's frantic worrying. "Yes, I'm alright, I stole a gecko, his name is Amantiel."
The second those words were pronounced Amatiel flew out the gates, spinning up and down amid the clouds.
Shining bright as a star as night began to fall, Amatiel soared down to Earth. It was a country he didn't recognise, with a circular wheel bordering a wide River and a freakishly big clock building. Amatiel shut his eyes, letting his beloved's face swim into his mind's eyes, and a moment later was soaring above the industrial towers of the city he knew .
All of the sudden tge lights in his apertments flickered off and he let out a long string of curses in Italian. He forgot to pay the bill. He just pulled a tub of ice cream out of the freezer and turned on his phones flash light, he would just go to sleep.
An electrical fault down south caught his attention, and he flew over to it. Without a sound he landed on the roof of the apartment building and walked through the emergency door to the fire staircase, then started walking down, sensing for the man he was looking for on each floor.
Jay frowned and pulled the covers over his head and opened up the container. "Freaking hate this." He grumbled. "'S cold." He continued, didn't seem like he would stop any time soon. "This world sucks."
