"Is there somewhere we can go and discuss?" Amaris asked
"Is there somewhere we can go and discuss?" Amaris asked
"Here doesn't work?" Indigo looked over at Amaris.
"I meant sit." She laughed. "I'm sorry, I'm used to sitting when discussing important matters, habit of my…mothers." she said, her smile fading near the end if the sentence. Risa cleared her throat and looked around the room at each of the kids and cleared her throat again. "Nevermind, let's get down to business. We need to create a battle plan as well as a lost of things we know about these kidnappers." She said
“We know nothing about our kidnappers besides that they took our parents,” Quentin replied dryly.
"Well we know they only took our parents. Why did they do that. They didnt only take heros or only villains, a mixture of both. Magical and non magic beings. And a maid said they were black. In the desert heat of all things." Risa said, counting them on her fingers and looking at Quentin pointedly. "I apologize if that was too difficult to pick out."
(Sorry if I offend someone, but Risa is a salty bitch and I feel like a rivalry would be funny lol)
"They're obviously powerfull to take our mother, a god, and Maleficent of all people," Adyn muttered, tongue out in thought as he wrote with his finger in the air. Adella nodded. "Powerful enough to get past wards and spells."
Quentin rolled his eyes. “Heroes and villains? How old do you think we are? The labels are archaic and meaningless,” he responded evenly. “Point is, we have nothing that can lead to a proper trail as of yet, besides puzzlement at their apparent power or access to it.” Already Quentin could tell he wouldn’t like this little princess.
Maple nodded, "We just have to find out what they want with them and why." She replied after thinking for a second.
Lilac nodded. She was still trying to figure out who was where, but that could wait. Indigo snorted at the heroes and villains comment and agreed with Quentin's statement, "They clearly have some wards against magic. That's the only explanation I got as to how they got in here."
“We have to figure out who would have access to that kind of magic,” Lorelei chimed in.
"That means we gave to go north and visit the Chailen Library. The biggest and most dangerous place in all the north. It is easy to get lost in the twisting maze of shelves but the spells and enchantment set on many books can take our lives." Amaris said, producing a map from her bag and pointing to the location.
“Just the way I want to leave this world,” Quentin said sarcastically. “By reading.”
“How are we going to get there? I’m sure something like that wouldn’t allow us to just teleport in,” Lorelei added.
"It won't," Indigo piped in after the last comment, "I've tried. That thing is more magic proof than anything I've ever seen."
'they have Barriers surrounding the place, extremely strong ones at that, but it is possible to teleport outside the barrier and walk inside. They can let us in if we have a valid reason or if we manage to answer three questions of theirs properly.' Cato spelled.
"Reading one of those books will allow you to gain some information." Amaris replied. "Maybe that way you can understand what we are talking about." She looked at Quentin with a smile before turning back to the map.
"You could… I dunno, just teleport to the outside then walk in…" Adella offered up quietly, pointing to a map on the wall.
Quentin scoffed. “Or maybe you can be the one to die when you open a magic book. There are some things that you can’t learn from merely reading about them,” he retorted, hand on his hip.
Maple looked at Adella, "Would that work? Or are there barriers on the outside too?" She asked looking back at Risa.
"If you transport far enough away, it shouldn't be a problem." Adella ran a hand through her hair, not noticing her brother behind her with a glare to the others.
"Huh," Indigo thought for a moment, "Never tried that."
"You got bored after trying to teleport straight in after the fifth try," Lilac told Indigo, "Even though I told you to not go straight in."
"Maybe reading something will allow you to realize that they mark the books with enchantments and can open them for you if you ask nicely, but I think that will be too much of a struggle for you." She snapped
'I've read that they have enchantment inside and out so you cannot teleport from inside the library and you cannot teleport to the library.'
Quentin smirked. “Oh I can ask nicely,” he replied, his tone going from pure annoyance to seductive and velvety.
Lorelei made a face at that. “So are there are kind of tests or barriers once we’re inside, besides the books themselves?”
Maple looked slightly confused at what Quentin said, which made sense because she was quite oblivious most of the time.
"Librarians. I know one of them, but he's not that friendly." Adella muttered, tongue out in thought.
Amaris nodded at Adella "true, the librarians and can be a pain in the ass but do we have another choice?" She turned to face Quentin and made a rude gesture.
Quentin simply smirked. “Don’t be jealous, princess~”
Lorelei rolled her eyes at him. “Is there a way we can get a leg up on this library thing or are we going to have to go in semi-blind?”
