He looks a bit familiar… Florence thought, looking back over to Easton who was wide-eyed from being jolted awake. "You're going to give me a heart attack," he said, sitting up and grabbing the black bookbag at his feet. He stared at Florence for a minute before giving her a confused look. She kept looking over to the boy with the thermos with a look of frustration on her face. Catching the red-and-yellow-eyed girl's gaze he mouthed the words, Why do you keep looking at him like that?
Florence replied to this with a brief wave of her hand and yet another sharp smile. "I'll tell you later." She said, beginning to walk off. "Come on!" She said, not turning around to see if Easton was following.
Heath looked down at his watch once again and noticed what time it was. "Oh, oh shit!" He muttered, slinging his green bag onto his back and standing up. I'm late to work! I lost track of time! He whined in his mind, walking quickly to the small cafe that was a few buildings away. He rushed inside, luckily it was before opening time. "Why did none of you text me?" He questions, he was the owner of the place and still was always late. "We did, you ignored them." One of his employees snarked back at him.
Easton quickly stood up and walked after Florence, tugging on her bag to slow her down a bit. "So, what were all of those odd looks for?" He asked, frowning as Florence looked at him with the same wide smile.
"I just thought he looked familiar." She said, making her answer sound as if it was obvious.
"That's all?" Easton asked, looking around at the empty street. "I thought you were about to attack him or something, with the way you kept giving him such annoyed looks."
"Annoyed?" Florence echoed, taking a sharp turn.
Heath gave a smile. "Well, then you should've called me." He said, sticking out his tongue and heading to the bakery part of the cafe as he throws on his apron. "We did." Another baker pointed out. Okay, maybe Heath hadn't been paying attention, at all.
Nixon kept walking until he reached the cafe he often stopped at. He plucked out his earbuds and walked inside to the counter. "An ice coffee please." He ordered and dug his wallet out from his backpack.
"Can do, would you like a sweet treat to go along with that? If you do, the bakery is over there. Plus, Heath just made some new cookies and they're fresh." One of the baristas says, handing him a coffee that she had made while she was talking and pointed in the direction of the bakery.
"Um sure I'll look." Nixon anwered How can you turn down fresh cookies I have 0 self control. He though while ordering a chocolate chip cookie.
Heath made his way over to the counter, handing the man a large chocolate chip cookie. "I just made them!" Heath says enthusiastically, the delicious smell of warm cookies filling the air.
(Hey so I jumped down to sometime in the early afternoon about 2-3 pm but what time is it for everyone else? If I have my character start to interact with people I want it to make sense.)
Currently, there is no set time for Heath. Mostly because his cafe could open at any time.//
Adeliza reread the email again and again, completely dumbfounded. Her class was cancelled. Adeliza didn’t know whether to be annoyed or happy. On one hand, she had pulled an all-nighter just to finish the ‘group’ project that no one helped her on, but on the other hand, she really needed to get lunch.
As Sol arrived at the bookstore she saw that next door to the bookstore was a cafe, and decided to stop there once she got her book. She headed into the store and towards the fantasy section. There wasn't many people there, just a mother with two kids browsing and some girl flipping through a book on a beanbag chair. She looked through the books until she found the trilogy and tried to get Odin's Ravens off of the shelf but it was stuck tightly between more copies of the book. She tried each of them until she really tugged on one and the whole series fell off of the shelf on to her and the floor.
Nixon thanked them and payed for his coffee and cookie then went and sat at one of the tables near the window and played a game on his phone periodically sipping on his coffee.
Arryn looked up in surprise when she heard a thump. She saw a girl on the ground with a bunch of books on her. She stood and and walked over “hey, are you ok?!” She asked
Sol straightened her beanie and looked up from her place on the ground to the voice. It was the girl who was in the beanbag earlier.
"Yeah I'm alright. I just kinda dropped a shelf of books on myself. I'll clean these up." She moved to pick up all of the books on the ground while pointedly didn't look into the eyes of the girl. No matter how much confidence she has, messing up in front of others was always embarrassing.
Arryn laughed lightly “I’ll help you.” She said crouching down to pick up books. She picked up a book and smiled “I’d like to live through someone of these stories but not like that!” She teased, referencing the previous moment
"Thanks." Sol glanced to the side. "Oh, you were reading Throne of Glass? I've heard of that, is it good?" Sol wasn't familiar with the girl before her. She would've remembered talking to a girl with silver hair who was pretty cute. The girl looked like she could still be in school, a senior, or junior maybe. If so, she probably attended Sol's school
(Because I want to have my character meet more people I wanted the cafe that Heath works at to be right next to the bookstore. I don't know if it's common, but at the barnes & noble near where I live has a starbucks connected to it so it could be one of those this maybe idk.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
(Yeah my neighbourhood has an indigo and Starbucks combined)
Arryn looked down at the book “yeah it’s pretty good. It’s abiut…” she started rambling, explaining the book to the girl. “Oh I’m sorry, I ruined it for you.” She sighed. Arryn put the book back in the shelf and looked up “didn’t catch your name.” She said cooly
"Didn't throw it. And I don't mind you spoiling the book. It sounds good." Sol replied. "By chance, do you attend Waterford High School?" She was relatively sure that the girl did, but wasn't completely sure.
Arryn laughed “yeah I go to Waterford. Had a test I didn’t study for today, so I decided not to go.” She shrugged “the names Arryn, Arryn Wesdan.” She said, looking through some more books
"Hey, um, I think you said it wrong. Shouldn't you say the last name first like y'know," Sol used her best male impression, "the name's Bond, James Bond. Or in my case, McNeil, Sol McNeil."
Arryn made a face “I don’t like James Bond.” She said looking at her
"Yeah, me neither, but like everyone knows that. Do you not know that?" She questioned. "Well, that doesn't matter." The cafe next door came to mind. "Hey, so after I buy this book, do you wanna grab a coffee or something at that cafe that's right next door?" she asked, gripping the book and nodding with her head in the direction of the cafe.
“I do know that, I just don’t like it. Besides, it’s fun annoying people!” She laughed. “Sure! A good book and a warm drink is my favourite way to start the morning.” She smiled and picked out another book. This time, it was one of the books by John Flanagan and the rangers apprentice series
