“Thanks,” Curt grumbled. “But your version of death will probably be less painful than the queen’s, so I’m kinda-“ he inhaled deeply and coughed up more blood “-kinda leaning towards that.”

Kennedy snapped herself out of her trance. "I'm a doctor Alice."
"Perfect," she said, placing Curt down by Kennedy.
Curt tried to wriggle away, but he only managed to get a few inches before moaning, turning several shades paler, and popping into a butterfly.
Kennedy sighed. "Curt, would ya just stay still and let me do my job?"
“Sorry, sorry,” Curt grumbled.

Edmund opened his eyes to a blue, blue sky.
Except he was supposed to be indoors. Why was there dust in his lungs? Speaking of which, what was resting on his body? He was numb.

“Where are you-“
“-going? To save a life.”
“There is no life to be saved.”
“Be back soon.” Cameron waved, walking off.
Cameron stood next to a pile of wood. There was someone underneath.
