(i just realized that we never added in parts of our characters eating. we have a few sentences of them collecting food, but nothing about them eating.)

Not soon enough, they approached the castle gates and Kira tapped all the sleeping faces on the shoulder to get them up. They had to be quiet, or they would be seen.

Ariene quietly hopped off of her horse, barely visible in the darkness, and everyone followed suit. They tied their horses to nearby trees, making sure to stay concealed in the forest. The large stone wall surrounding the courtyards was gaurded very carefully, but Kira and Michael knew where they were all stationed, so they led the group to an empty patch of wall and climbed over it, making sure they weren't seen. Kira was helped up and let out a small, high-pitched umf. They were stone- still for the next few minutes, but apparently, nobody heard them, so they let out their breaths and finished getting over the wall. Navigating the garden was an easy task, even in the dark, and they soon reached Kira's empty tower. She turned to look at them. "Well, this is it." Her voice cracked a little bit. Was it possible she might actually miss them?

Amber nodded and so did Ariene. Amber noticed a small tear forming in Ariene's eyes and tried to shake away the ones in her own eyes. How could she miss the person who literally almost killed her when she first set eyes on her? "Remember why we did this." Amber said in a determined tone before turning away and putting the hood on her cape up. She walked slowly back to the wall, throwing one last glance before climbing back over.

Kira faltered, deciding whether or not to say goodbye, but before she knew it, she was back in her bed in her tower and everyone was gone as if they'd never been here at all.

Kira woke up to Molly's scream, followed by the complete silence in which Kira took the time to roll over and see that the sun was at it's highest point: noon. She'd overslept. She'd way overslept, but Kira thought that she had a pretty good excuse, not sleeping well for the past few weeks, being knocked out and kidnapped, and almost dying more than once. She sat up and immediately regretted it. Her back was incredibly sore, filling the silence with cracks and pops only belonging to each and every vertebra down her spine as each exercised itself after a long time riding sidesaddle and being tied up. Kira let out a groan, and Molly rushed to her side.
"M- my princess? You- you- you're back! Where were you?"
"To hell and back." Kira didn't care who was listening anymore. She had learned not to care over her journey. Thanks, Shey, she thought.

Amber rode back to her cottage, knowing that it could well be the last time she saw her mother. She ran inside and hugged her mother.
"I love you, mom." She smiled. Her mother smiled. They hugged for a little while then with tears sparkling in both of their eyes, her mother asked, "Where were you?"
"On a mission to help the kingdom." Amber said simply. Then she took in a deep breath through her nose.
"What is that wonderful smell?" She asked, excited.
"Your favorite, meat pies! I've been making it every night while you've been gone so if you came back you would get to eat a warm meat pie right when you got here."
Amber grinned at this. "You really are the best mother anyone could have."

"Sh-shall I go get someone else? Your Highness?" Molly stuttered her way to the door acting like she didn't quite believe her eyes.
"Quit your stuttering. You sound like a fool." The comment came out harsher than Kira meant for it to. "I'm going to wash, then I will get dressed, then we will go downstairs together. And you will help. I, er, I don't think I can stand up by myself anymore."
Molly rushed to Kira's side, her eyes wide. "Yes, your Highness." Feeling Kira's arm seemed to calm her down a little bit like she now had physical proof she wasn't dreaming. Kira wondered where the others were now. Probably going on some other awesome quest, or maybe they just decided to settle down, go their separate ways. Home. When Kira looked up, it didn't look like home. Not the way it had looked to her all the years she'd spent reading or beating herself at cards in this room in this tower in this kingdom she no longer called home. Too much had changed. Too much was gone now.

Micheal wondered what had become of Shey. He had returned to his home. He considered checking up on the princess, he found himself in a deep sleep before he could make a decision.

Kira studied the marble tile beneath her feet. She couldn't just stay here in front of her father's study forever. If Kira went in, what would she say? Hello. I'm back. Please don't kill my friends. She took in a deep breath and knocked.
