Jayson snorted and looked at her. "I mean obviously you wouldn't fall for me but it would be nice and I'd like to let my imagination run wild on that one" He suppresses a laugh. "If there are girls in hell then I think my stay'll be worth it~" He says giving a sort of sassy tone to his voice.
"Uh-huh. Well like I said, good luck." Ember continued to skip along the path, keeping an eye out for any crawlers.
After a while she spun around to see if Jayson was tired yet. "I know humans need rest, even if they're dead."
Jayson was laying flat on his face when she turned around, he held up one finger. "Yea, one moment, me and the ground have a thing going on right now." He had tripped and fell, though he made it seem like he did it on purpose.
Ember shook her head, "yes, I do believe a brake is in order." She found a spot to sit and plopped down. Ember watched Jayson, and held back a laugh knowing full well no one would just lay on their face.
Jayson gets up, his face a little flushed from embarrassment. He sits beside Ember. "Nice weather we're having amirite?" he wiggles his eyebrows at her, another attempt at seduction, which was probably clearly failing at this point and he knew it.
Ember raised an eye brow and laughed. "I guess." Though the wasn't really much weather in a reapers real. Of course some where cold, or windy. But hers way what one would call a nice day.
Jayson lays down on his back sighing, finally relieved to take a rest. He wondered what would happen if he stayed asleep or just refused to move in general. Would Ember drag him to the gates of hell herself? "Hey, what if someone were to refuse to keep going?" He asked, curious about what he'd been thinking about before.
Ember cocked her head to the side, never really have been asked that kind of question before. "Well, I'd assume they'd become a crawler." She shrugged and eyed him curiously, "why do you ask? Not getting any ideas, are you?"
Jayson laughs warmly at her suspicious attitude. "Hahaha no, I was just curious. I wasn't sure if someone tried that on you before, but I swear I'm not getting any ideas" He says holding his hands up in defeat as he has a faint smile on his face.
"Yeah well you'd be the first if you did try." Ember shrugged before relaxing. "Any more questions you'd like me to answer while we rest? Talking and walking isn't a good idea. Espesily in some areas of this place."
"ah no not really, not at the moment- well actually yea, it's not much of a question, just an assumption. You're single right?" He asks shamelessly while still laying down with his eyes closed.
Ember scrunched up her face as if holding in a laugh before giving a breathless, "yes." And giving into her laughter. "What are you getting at buddy? Want me to fall for you?"
Jayson laughs awkwardly, sits up and shakes his head a bit quickly which almost makes him seem innocent….almost. "N-no I was just wondering- I mean a young beautiful gorgeous-" he stops himself and coughs to cover up his awkwardness. "I just thought that a cute girl like you would already have a date? Male partner? Maybe you fancy another guy of your kind?" He smiles nervously. Shoot she's so gonna crucify me now
Ember burtsted out laughing. "What? Jayson. Oh my gosh." She shook her head before her expretion turned serious. "Of course not. Guys always want, well you know. And I just, I don't want that kind of stuff. Espesily if the other doesn't love me. I know, it sounds stupid. But honestly what's a relationship with out love?" She turned to him and felt her face go red from embaresmint. "I-I don't mind my rambling."
Jayson smiles warmly. "No yea I hear ya, that's kinda the main reason why I never dated anyone, they only look for what convenient to them and putting up with all that is really tiring….but hey, if a guy loved you without doing all that would you go out with 'em?" He asks cautiously, trying not to get his heart crushed because in reality he just wanted to know if he had a chance with her.
Ember gave a rare warm smile, that seemed to be more to herself, and looked down at the ground. "Yeah, I think I would." She mumbled before narrowing her eyes again, "why do you ask?" And just like that her shell of defence was up once again.
Jayson's face lit up when he was able to make out the words 'I think I would' and was about to approach her for a small warm hug but then she narrowed her eyes and he just kinda backed up a bit. "N-no reason, I just happen to like you, you're a nice p-person. N-not! In a romantic way," he says then mutters the following: "doesn't have to be romantic…" he says, his face slightly red and a small frown resting on his face with a cute childish pout to his lips, as if he were trying to plan something.
Ember let her face soften again as she gave a small laugh. "Thanks? I guess. Or at least I'm assuming that was a compliment." Ember studied his face, her eyes darting around as if trying to take it all in like one would do with a sunset. "I think you're a nice person too, and kinda really hope you don't go to hell. I don't think you'd like it very much." She leaned back on her hands and returned her gaze to the sky, which was an actual sunset.
Jayson smiles and nods "No yea it sure was a hell of a compliment" he gives off a soft low laugh. "Ah thanks to that," he says scratching the back of his head awkwardly in an attempt to brush off the embarrassment. "Yea, I'm sort of starting to think I don't wanna go after all" he then looks up at the sunset, a bit of his hair falling on his face, obscuring his vision a bit.
The sunset- even in the dull colors of her realm- was still beautiful in a sense. Ember sighed, "yeah, It really sucks there. The hole stabbing visitors has forever given it a bad rep in my opinion." She shrugged. "Do humans need sleep? Or am I thinking of something else?" She squinted and bit her bottom lip as if deep in thought. "I can't remember much of humans, sorry." She mumbled.
Jayson shakes his head, an ever-present easy smile on his face. "It's okay I understand that you wouldn't and yea, we need sleep or we literally go nuts. And hole stabbing huh?" He chuckles. "That's one way to put them." He gives an easy laugh as he closes his eyes just sitting there.
Ember touched under her eyes where she had dark rings. "I guess I could do with some sleep too." She mumbled to herself. After all, she was once human. Maybe she needed sleep still. She flopped onto her back and shoved her hood under her head like a pillow. "Wake me up if you wake up first, hear anything, see anything, or just feel uneasy."
Jayson looked down at her just sleeping there all of a sudden and nods. "Yea I'll do that, got it, no problem" He then goes back to looking at the sunset but eventually gets tired and lays down beside her, not too close nope he didn't want her to get the wrong idea though it was tempting.
It wasn't long before Ember awoke from a nightmare, or perhaps it was a bad memory. She julted up and cluched her chest from her gasping. you're fine. You're okay. she tried to tell herself, but the dream still had a grip on her.
Jayson seemed to be asleep, a strand of hair stuck to the side of his mouth, and didn't sense when she got up. He was curled up in a small ball as if to try and warm himself, he was really sensitive to the cold even when it wasn't.
