(Hello my children!)
//hi!
( i was bringing this up so it didn't get buried. I'll be gone for most of the morning)
//lol ok
"I mean, I checked them the other day and they looked fine but that was just a brief check." He shrugged. "Besides, you are the mechanic! You have examined this ship bow to stern!"
(Feel free to reply to this)
//ok
“I’ll check them again,” Victoria promised. “I don’t know, I just feel like something’s… off, with them.”
(I'M BACK!!!)
Lars watched as she hopped back into the hole, his expression one of concern. "Really? What kind of off?"
“I don’t think its a broken, kind of off. More of an inefficient and could be better, kind of off,” Victoria called up as she descended the ladder.
Lars sighed. "Well…..should we make an extra stop? We don't wanna get stranded in the vacuum of space."
“Nope, I have everything I need. And I can keep ‘em running while we fly,” Victoria said, already beginning to deconstruct the machinery.
Lars nodded. "Okay, just be careful."
An hour passed and she was still down there. "How's it going Vick?"
“Good!” She called up. “I’ve figured out the problem! (Lengthy and mechanical-y explanation.) I’ll be done in ten minutes, tops.”
"Okay! Good!" Lars smiled and turned back to stare out the window. "It'll be another hour till we reach the next port so take your time!"
“Roger that!” Victoria laughed.
//TODAY IS MY LAST DAY OF SCHOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLL
(CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES C'MON!)
An hour later, Lars turned autopilot off and took the wheel. "Are you done Vick? We gotta land soon."
“Yep! I’m done!” Victoria said, climbing back into the cockpit. Her hands were greasy, her cheek had a streak of grime on it, and there was a spring tangled in her hair, but she was beaming. “Fixed it!”
Lars giggled and took the spring out her hair. "You might wanna go clean up dude."
“Nah. Engine grease is to me what soap is to you,” Victoria joked, wiping her face and smearing the smudge even more, but going to the washroom nonetheless.
Lars shook his head and grinned. "Make sure you buckle up when you get back."
“Kay!” Victoria shut the door and turned on the sink, washing her face off. She grabbed a brush and attempted to comb her hair, but the brush just got stuck, so she gave up and yanked it out before it became a permanent addition to her hair.
Lars flipped a switch. The radio buzzed. "The is the ship Seattle we are on schedule to land." There was a static laced reply. "Roger." He flipped the switch again. "We are clear for landing people!"
Victoria came out, her face clean. “Yay! How long do you think I have for sightseeing?”
Lars shrugged. "Like…20 minutes?"
“Good. Enough time for some light protesting before dinner.”
(lol got that)
"Go for it girl." He stuck his tongue out in concentration as the broke through the synthetic atmosphere.
