Peregrine stumbled through the woods, trying to find his way out of the shadows. His vision was blurry and it was difficult to see since he was so delirious. He had a pretty deep wound on his side, and he was feverish from the infection. He spotted a gap in the trees and pushed through, and staggered towards a massive structure that he assumed was a building. He couldn't be sure what it was, but he wasn't in a good enough state to care. He shuffled up to the door, but before he could try and knock, he collapsed against it, making a loud bang that resonated through the nearest hallways of the hospital.

Lis heard the resounding thud come from the blocked-off front door and stood upright suddenly.
"Did you guys hear that?" she called, loading her gun and starting towards the stairwell.
Tohru caught up. behind her.
"Hear what?"
"Banging at the door. Might be zombies or someone trying to get in. I don't- I don't know. Would someone come with me?"

Lilac squeaked, lifting her head up in surprise. “I-I don’t know-“

Bean stood up. “I’ll come. It might be someone who needs our help,” she walked over to Lis.

Luka watched his sister walk off. He felt emotionally and physically exhausted from everything.

Mori jumped at the sound, clearly uneasy. If it was zombies, Lis and Tohru would deal with them, right? But they could also break in and hurt the group more. He shuddered and huddled closer to Luka for comfort.
Kas started to stir from his sleep and groaned in pain. Their leg was hurting pretty badly again, a dull throb that was hard to ignore. He searched around for the crutches and fitted them under his arms, and then they headed off in search of the other members of the group.

"Yeah, I'll go too," Tohru agreed, his voice breaking off a bit.
Lis cast a smile over her shoulder. "Don't worry, I'll lead the way. We'll be fine."
She took the safety off her gun and started down the stairs, watching closely for anything unusual. Tohru was pretty slow to follow.

Peregrine stirred a bit where he lay, whining and groaning in pain. He whimpered and started to tremble. In his injured, malnourished state, he was delirious and weak and generally felt awful. He'd been on his own for a few days, and considering how unused to taking care of himself he was, he wasn't exactly doing well. "H… h-help… please…" He cried out as well as he could, which still wasn't very loud.

Bean grabbed a crowbar and followed the two, frowning in worry.

Lilac stayed with Mori, stroking the young boy’s hair.

Luka noticed Kas wasn’t with him and immediately got worried.

Lis pushed forwards and gestured towards the barricaded door. Tohru gave her a hand in taking down everything. They listened for further noise, but only Lis heard the cry, and it was very indistinct and soft. She wasn't certain what it was.
"I'm opening the door. Get ready to go."
Tohru readied his gun and aimed at the doorway as Lis opened the door. And he lowered it when he saw that it was just a child.

Peregrine looked up when the door opened and saw a gun suddenly pointed into his face. He whined again and his eyes welled up with tears, and he started to tremble harder with fear. He curled up tightly when Tohru lowered his gun, and his shifted positioning showed the dark red stain on the side of his vibrant jacket.

Bean gasped, rushing over to the small child. “Oh my gosh, he’s hurt-!” she set her crowbar aside as she looked over his injuries.

Lilac held Mori close to her, trying to keep him calm…while soothing herself too.

Luka was looking around for Kas, worried. “Kas? Are you in here?”

Peregrine tried to move away when Bean approached him, clearly scared and still in a lot of pain.

Kas looked up when they heard Luka's voice and tried to make their way towards him, or where he perceived him to be. Eventually, they spotted him and waved. "Hey! Over here. I'm fine." He insisted.

Lis helped Bean by dragging the child inside despite and protest, then she barricaded the door back up. Tohru stood there motionless, a sick feeling settling into his stomach and throat. He ran a hand through his hair.
"Sweetie, it's okay. You're safe here," Lis promised.
Tohru backed up. "I'm- I'm going back upstairs," he said weakly.
Lis frowned. "What if we need your help?"

Peregrine was shifting between phases of consciousness by now. He was exhausted, and his body had had enough. The adrenaline was fading, and he didn't have enough to keep him going right now. His teary eyes fluttered shut, and his shaky breathing began to slow. He was alive, but feverish with infection and clearly very weak at the moment.

Bean turned to Lis. “Can you get something to deal with this wound?” she asked softly, worried about the small child.

Lilac was holding Mori close, stressed and nervous.

Luka sighed with relief, making his way over to Kas. “I’m glad you’re doing better.”

"I'll get something," Tohru replied, his voice breaking a bit, "Give me a moment."
He started up the stairs and went to grab some bandages from his bag. He took deep, heavy, almost panting breaths, desperate to calm himself. Tohru fumbled for a roll of bandages, his hands shaking violently again. His hands felt almost numb.
Lis looked over to Bean, then back to the child.
"Stay awake, love. We'll take care of you, okay?"
She sat there, trying to make sure he stayed laying on his side.

Levi saw Tohru struggling and half-ran over. "Hey, you okay? Do you need any help?" He said, forcing his voice to stay calm. He touched the back of Tohru's shaking hand. "I can take those down if you don't want to."
