"Perhaps. I wouldn't doubt it. But it also attests to your intelligence. In Slytherin, we stick together. Like a family. All those Ravenclaw's are just scrambling over each other to try and get the best grade." Lloyd laughed.

Rowan nodded and was smiling. Then she started to frown, Will the other Slytherins like that I'm a muggle born?

Lloyd shrugged. "Dunno. I can't speak for them. But whatever they say, don't let it bother you. Lots of them don't think before they speak anyways."

Rowan nodded, I'm going to prove all of them wrong. I'll be the best witch ever. Just watch me!

"I'm sure you will. Who knows? Perhaps you'll even become even better than Hermione herself!"

Rowan smiled, I most definitely will!

"That's good. I wish I had that kind of confidence." Lloyd laughed weakly. "Unfortunately, I don't have much confidence in my own abilities. I never was able to stand up to the jerks who destroyed my self esteem."

Rowan shrugged, It's easier if you've been beaten down your entire life. It makes me want to get better. Prove everyone wrong!

Melissa listened to the conversation, keeping her veil of hair around her face.

"I have, it's just I never was told anything good about myself. No parents, friends, you know."

Rowan looked to Melissa, We'll be his friends right?

Melissa turned to look at what Rowan wrote. She looked up at the boy and made eye-contact. She nodded, smiling a little.
