Melissa nibbled at the tips of her food. Everyone was staring at and whispering about her and Rowan. She kept her head down, her hair shielding her face, just like usual.

Rowan kept her eyes on her food. Trying to ignore the words of everyone else.

"I'm sorry, Rowan," Melissa whispered.

Rowan shakily signed, "It's nothing I'm not used to."

Lloyd spotted the two new Slytherin girls seeming upset and walked over, sitting next to them. "Hey, I'm… I'm Lloyd. Just ignore these guys, trust me. They're all just insecure and looking for people to exploit." He smiled weakly. "It's not all bad here in Slytherin. I can help you out."

Rowan looked up. She pulled out her notebook and wrote, Really?

He nodded. "I was bullied quite a bit for being a Slytherin. Because of course I'm 'just one of the villains'." Lloyd sighed. "Remember, the main qualities of Slytherin are cunning and ambitious. You shouldn't be ashamed of either. It means that you're smart and you can get stuff done. A lot of the Purebloods just aren't good at much so they make fun of muggle borns to make themselves feel better."

Rowan nodded warily. She was worried what he would think if she told him that she was a muggle born, Okay.

"I mean, I'm a Pureblood, but blood status doesn't mean anything. Don't let anyone get you down because of it. There are so many muggle borns who are so much more powerful than them, and me. It's the strength of the wizard, not the wand or the blood."

You think that? Rowan looked at the older boy hopefully.

"Of course." Lloyd smiled. "Ollivander always used to say, 'The wand chooses the wizard' and 'A wizard can tranfer his magic through almost any instrument'. You're the only essential part of the magic. You and your confidence in yourself and your abilities. Don't let the jerks get you down! They lack the strength that you have, and think about Hermione Granger! She's the most talented witch of her age, and guess what? She's muggle born."

Rowan smiled, That's amazing! I'm a muggle born too!

"And never let anyone tell you you're weak because of it." Lloyd smiled softly. "I've met many immensely talented muggle borns, and countless Purebloods who can hardly perform a shield spell."

Rowan was now smiling immensely, Thank you Mr. Nice Slytherin!

"No problem. The name's Lloyd. Lloyd Saxon Windsor."
(Oh yeah he's an angel in this one too)

Rowan Byrne. Rowan wrote to him.

"Nice name. Oh, I am a Slytherin by the way. The Ravenclaw crest is only temporary…" Lloyd looked down at his robes.

Rowan nodded, That's the smart house right?

"Er, roughly. Slytherin is Cunning and Ambitious, Ravenclaw is Wise and Creative, Gryffindor is Chivalrous and Brave, and Hufflepuff is Loyal and Kind."

Rowan nodded, So I'm in Slytherin because I'm ambitious?
