"Well, more like my dad." Dove swung her lunchbox, "He likes to cook, but my other dad is more like, hurr! Manly-man-man, let's go play sports Dove!"
"Well, more like my dad." Dove swung her lunchbox, "He likes to cook, but my other dad is more like, hurr! Manly-man-man, let's go play sports Dove!"
Oliver laughed. "Well I have to buy lunch since my parents don't exactly live around the block." He smiled, rolling his eyes at Dove playfully.
"Sounds like your parents let you have outside food." Dove smiled and clicked her clicker, "My dad once showed up at my friend's birthday party with food for me to eat instead of eating the stuff that the other kids did."
Natalie laughed. "My mom is a lawyer, and my dad's a police officer. And I have three brothers in the military. My dad loves scaring me and my younger siblings out of our wits." She said, smiling. "Well THAT was super random." She stated right after.
"I mean, they don't have much of a choice. They live on the other side of the country." Oliver shrugged. "But I think it's sweet your family's so protective of you. That's a good thing."
"It is." Dove swayed, hitting Dr. Horne with her hip and giving him a wicked grin.
"Hey! I'm scrawny!" He complained, bumping her back with a grin.
"And I'm full at the hips!" Dove smiled, "I love having an advantage."
"Not fair!" Oliver whined. "Race you to the elevators!" He took off.
"Hey!" Dove sprinted to the elevators and passed Dr. Horne. She stuck her tongue out and laughed.
(You have control over Dove while I'm gone)
Oliver dashed after her, but ended up growing dizzy and limping the last few steps. He watched Dove's eyes narrow with concern. "It's just because I forgot my pill. I'm fine, I promise." He took a seat on a nearby bench in order to catch his breath.
Briar was being a sneaky lil’ rascal and had escaped from her room. She quietly crept to her private on-call room with her boyfriend, who was skeptical about the fact that she was walking.
“Are you sure you want to do this?” He said softly
She nodded
“Okay..”
She shut the door behind them.
Natalie put a hand on Oliver's shoulder. "You sure you're okay? I have some iron supplements in my locker that I keep for my patients if you need them."
"Yeah, I'm fine." Oliver caught his breath, standing up. "I'll be okay." He smiled softly, standing back up.
Dove stood next to Oliver, "You better be okay. I'm hungry and I can't afford a trip to the hospital."
Natalie snorted, trying to hold back her laughs, failing miserably.
Dove smiled, and then clicked her clicker.
"We're in a hospital." Oliver corrected, standing up and making his way to the elevators. "Besides I'm a cardiologist. I can handle myself just fine." He smirked, giving them a thumbs up and accidentally hitting the up button instead of down on the elevator.
Dove quickly double-clicked the button and then clicked the down button.
"So do those clicks have a meaning? Like besides you being happy?" Oliver asked curiously.
"Not really. I just click them when I'm happy, so if I click them when I'm not, I'll remember the happiness, and I will be happy." Dove shrugged, "It's kind of like I'm training myself to smile."
"Like Pavlov? Is that how you say it?" Oliver shrugged. "You know what I mean."
"The Russian psychologist?" Dove asked.
"No clue. I took psychology back in high school. But he's the uhh… the one with the bell and the dog? I think so at least." Oliver hit the down button on the elevator, his face heating up as he noticed he'd hit the wrong one.
