"Nope. All I've ever been was an Infernal." Zackary started to comb his hair.
"Nope. All I've ever been was an Infernal." Zackary started to comb his hair.
"Something tells me tomorrow will be…fun." Afriel shot him a grin
Zackary grinned and flopped down on the bed. "For now, sleep." He rolled over closer to the wall so she could join him.
Afriel felt her face warm at the temples as she laid down next to him. "Yeah. Okay." She tried to make herself as small as possible, not wanting to take up to much space.
Zackary curled up a little too, following the same mindset as she. He smiled.
"'Night, Afriel."
"Night." Afriel let a small smile light her lips as she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.
Zackary shut his eyes too, and soon he was asleep, curled up close to her.
(Skip?)
(Sure! Few days? Or more? Less?)
(We could do like… a month?)
(Okay!)
A month had passed and the two still worked in the bakery. Afriel enjoyed working in the back baking, to her it felt like a part of her past.
Enda had left the pair to tend to the bakery as she ran errands.
"Hey Afriel! Couldja come here for a sec?" Called Zackary's voice, which was oddly muffled.
Afriel looked up from what she was doing and dusted some flower off her hands, "yeah." She shuffled out of the back to where she guessed Zackary was.
In the flour vat. Again. Enda always kept a giant vat of flour that she makes herself, and she unwittingly set Zackary to do the job this time. It wasn't on, thank goodness, but Zackary was checking the quality of the flour annnnd fell in.
"Zackary! Oh my gosh!" Afriel ran over to him and tried pulled him out. "Don't do that! How did you even get in there!?"
Zackary wiggled his legs. "I was leaning over the edge and I fell in!"
"But why though?" Afriel flapped her wings to help pull Zackary out.
Zackary popped his head out of the flour, coughing out the powder. "I don't know!"
Afriel laughed and wipped some flower from his cheek. "You don't need to lean so far in next time."
"I have to! I have to bend down and get a sample of the flour, and I always topple over because of my wings!" His wings shivered indignantly, which were powdered in white.
Afriel continued to laugh, "well use your wings to get out next time." She stood up on her toes and gave Zackary a kiss on the cheek.
Zackary smiled a little, the place where she pecked burning. "I tried that. They're just so unwilling to do what I need them to do."
"Hmm, well maybe call me for some help next time?" Afriel faught the urge to laugh more by dusting more flower off of Zackary.
(*flooouuuurrurururuurrrrr WORONG WORD)
Zackary smiled and squeezed her shoulder. "I will." He laughed.
(Ack, I promise I can do the English.)
"You look like a ghost." Afriel laughed a small but more before having to go back to the kitchen. "I think I can smell the bread burning."
Zackary gave her a look. “Then go get it before it does burn.”
