Zackary trotted off, his clothes itching on his skin. Wings (his inner Demon), hated clothing, which Zackary was starting to reflect on as sensible. He trotted for a while before stripping, dipping the clothes in the water, hanging them up to dry and sinking into the unnaturally clean lake.
Afriel continued to gather sticks boredly. Occasionally stopping to try and tame her hair again.
Zackary’s wings faded as he slowly sunk into the lake, leaving him human-like. He gave a faint sigh as he sunk down till his chin, the water singing through his pores. Bliss.
Time passed very slowly for Afriel, and after a while- and a bunch of sticks later- she decided it was time to take a break.
Zackary wasn’t aware of the time change. If he was he was waiting for his clothes to dry. He stayed in the lake, totally relaxed.
It had been over an hour when he left.
Where the heck is he? Afriel looked at the lake but didn't dare go down it. "Zackary!" She called.
Zackary didn’t hear her call, since he was on the other side of the lake. He relaxed deeper into the lake with a deep hum.
"You better not have died." Afriel mumbled as she awkwardly started down the lake. "Zackary!"
As she approached where he resided, she spotted his clothes hanging up to dry. They looked somewhat wet but wearable. No Zackary, as far as she could see, though.
"Zackary?" Afriel looked around, "I swear if this is a joke I'll personally drown you."
As she trotted forward, Zackary opened an eye. “What are you talking about?” He rose slightly out of the water, so his waist and below were still hidden. This showed off his rather broad and scarred chest.
Afriel quickly snapped her eyes shut, "its been over an hour! I thought you drowned!" Even though she tried to sound angry her voice came out more as embarrassed.
Zackary rolled his eyes and slunk back into the lake upon her reaction.
“You can’t trust me not to drown?” He sounded put off and disgruntled.
(Sorry my internet keeps going down.)
"Well like I said, its been over an hour. I got worried." Afriel felt stupid for thinking Zackary had drown. "S-sorry." She mumbled.
(It’s not your internet it was Notebook)
Zackary shrugged her off. “It’s fine. I’ll be out once my clothes dry.”
(Oh!)
Afriel nodded her head, "I-I'll see you back at camp then." With that she quickly turned and left. Her face a bright shade of red.
(Yeah! It’s not you ^-^)
Zackary slunk deeper in the lake, thinking about drowning himself. He sighed, which rippled the water under his nose.
Afriel sat on a log and enclosed herself in her wings. stupid. her face toned down to a light pink as she sat there and thank.
Zackary shut his eyes with a sigh. He relaxed slowly into the current. What was I expecting?
Afriel decided after Zackary got back She'd apologize again and then go wash up too. After all her hair was getting on her nerves, and washing it might help the tangles.
It was gonna be a while until he rose, though. She has left to deal with her tangles.
Afriel worked out her tangles and ran her fingers through her hair to make sure no more tangles formed. After some more time she grew bored of waiting and decided to scribble a note in the dirt saying she'd gone the other way to wash up.
Zackary drifted off in the lake with a gentle sigh. He hardly took hold of his concious as he floated there, trying to fight himself awake.
Afriel quickly washed her clothes and hung them up to dry before sinking in the water, just letting her head poke out.
Zackary held his breath and dunked into the cold lake, enjoying the mass of the water on his lids. He stayed there, his breath held in tranquility.
