Ivy nodded with a smile. "Cool beans." A pause. "Seeing as this is an acceptable start, should we head out to find a more complete cover?"
Ivy nodded with a smile. "Cool beans." A pause. "Seeing as this is an acceptable start, should we head out to find a more complete cover?"
(Bump?)
The Reflection frowned. "You didn't get a good look around at this place when I carried you. Going through the mirror must take a lot out of you. However, this is fairly complete around here. Where you live there isn't a war constantly being waged," Ivy-too reminded. She smiled lightly at her counterpart after a moment. "We'll still move out of here soon enough though."
Ivy pursed her lips, nodding. "Okay then. I'm not sure what to do now then. Sorry, I feel useless." She decided to be honest. If anyone was going to understand her feelings, it would be herself, so why not? "I just don't know what to make of all this."
Ivy-too gave her a small smile. "It's alright. I really don't either." The Reflection glanced around for any sign of a mirror in their current situation. A reflective shimmer. An odd shape covered by another tarp. However, they were unlucky at that current moment. They really were at a dead end. Sighing, the girl sat on the cold ground only to flop back to stare at the ceiling.
“So…” Ivy started quietly. “How do you work? As in… were you alive as a baby like me?”
The Reflection hummed. "I mean… I think so? As you grew up, you had to look into the mirror dozens of times, right? That was me too, though my memory isn't great."
"But… How did you take care of yourself as a baby? And what do you eat? What do you do when I'm not around? How do you always find a mirror wherever you are to be with me?"
Thousands of questions were running through her mind, stampeding on every other thought; she only let a fraction out.
It was fortunate that she was already on the ground, otherwise the Reflection would have been knocked over from all of Ivy's questions. "Okay, okay, uh… First one, my parents obviously are your parents' Reflections. Yours cared for you, mine cared for me. Good?" Ivy-too didn't wait for a response. "Second, I eat food like you, silly. Now third… again, a war and all that, I have to move locations almost immediately once you leave to swap locations. That kinda answers the fourth thing as well. Thanks to lots of running and you being in shape for the most part, I'm fairly quick."
There was also the small mirror she had, but that would raise even more questions.
(by small I mean like pocket size)
Ivy paused, letting all the information sink in. "Okay, I see. How does society work? Do you talk to other Reflections, or watch TV, or buy things? Is this place an exact replica of Earth? Do you know all of my friends' Reflections? Where are my parents' Reflections?"
(where are you thinking we go from here?)
(Well I figure they get up and leave after another response or 2 and then bump into someone. They realize what is going on despite the two of them lying and boom everyone finds out I guess? I really don't know)
(don't know if you saw but I'm away up until Sunday for a school trip, I'll see you in a week!)
(as for plot~ I'll brainstorm some ideas as I'm away, and hopefully I'll be back with some options)
(Alright! Thanks for telling me!)
(I was thinking maybe that too long an interaction between Reflection and Counterpart causes some sort of weird disturbance, like maybe one of them is affected in some way, or the Rogues are affected, or the mirror dimension itself? What if one by one, all mirrors are breaking? Idk, something along those lines)
(oMG YeS)
(Agh sorry school :'( )
(So which one of those? The Rogues, the mirrors, the actual dimension? Or should we just go for it and see where it goes with that idea in mind?)
(Idk man lol, I like them all hhh)
(I feel like maybe it could start off as the Reflection starting to feel slight pain, it gradually get worse until they die? Idk I like the mirror thing too tho)
(Is that good or should we do something else because I'm good with whatever)
(No I think that works well!)
Ivy paused, letting all the information sink in. "Okay, I see. How does society work? Do you talk to other Reflections, or watch TV, or buy things? Is this place an exact replica of Earth? Do you know all of my friends' Reflections? Where are my parents' Reflections?"
The Reflection was beginning to feel a bit overwhelmed with all the questions. Still, she answered them anyways. "First thing; it really doesn't work. It's kinda everyone on their own…? Agh, it's a lot to explain. Occasionally, I'll meet another Reflection, but we don't speak much. There's not really time for all that leisure type stuff," she started. She kind of felt a bit sad. She had always wanted to get a few new things for herself, but there wasn't time or place to do so. "Dunno about the replica thing, but maybe? Last thing, I-" Ivy-too was suddenly cut off as a sharp pain came over her entire body. She let out a cry of pain, unable to keep it in. It felt like a million needles all at once stabbing her insides, each little square inch of her until… nothing. It left as soon as it came. Suddenly there were noises coming from outside, inching closer and closer.
"We need to go. Now."
Ivy, panicked by the sudden noises, leapt to her feet and ran for the door stumbling over her own feet in her fearful haste.
