"See, this is one of those dream things were you know it's a dream and can explore it. That's why," the girl replied as she searched a small closet for supplies. Luckily she found a pillow. Unfortunately it was very flat.

Taking the pillow, the Reflection set it gently on the ground before looking for something to help disguise Ivy. Another cloth like hers perhaps. Her Counterpart's words were quite confusing to understand. Tea? What tea? And why waste it and spill it? High?
"What does your suspicion have to do with altitudes?" she asked, now closing the closet, unsatisfied with it's contents.

It seemed like an easy way out of the situation. "A bit, yes. I lied earlier because you seemed really out of sorts," the Reflection replied, making up the story on the spot.

"I—" Ivy considered this. It would be easy for the other her to simply go along with what was happening. Could she really believe herself? "I don't believe you." She'd judge the reaction.

"Explain your weak body and headache then," she countered. If Ivy actually did have an answer, then she already had another attempt to convince her Counterpart. However, if it didn't work, there was no other way out but the truth.

"Okay, stop!" Ivy cried. "You're being really being really dismissive. Please, me, just tell me what's really happening," she requested pleadingly. "Please."

The Reflection paused, eyes wide. There was no other way around this. Plus… it would make things a lot easier to keep Ivy safe…
"Alright. You'll want to stay seated though, because it's a lot," the girl said, sitting in front of Ivy. Her legs were crossed comfortably and the Reflection looked into her Counterpart's eyes. The exact same as her own.
"I'm what is called a Reflection. My job is to keep you from crossing over to this world to protect you from what are known as Rogues. They… are Reflections who have lost their Counterpart. Basically, without a purpose… some aren't sure what else to do," the Reflection started. "I failed my mission due to what you saw from the other side. That 'child,'" the girl said, making air quotes with her fingers, "was a Rogue."

"Ivy" became irritated with her Counterpart. "I just was! How much straighter do you want me to be? Oh yeah, if you don't return home, both of us will die. This has never happened before and I'm not much more sure what to do than you are," the Reflection rambled, putting her head and in her hands. It was ironic as she had mirrored Ivy's previous action by doing so.

Ivy fell silent, eyes wide, watching herself mimick herself. She frowned— how was she even supposed to address her Reflection?
In the jumble of thoughts that had packed into her mind, she managed: "Can I call you Ivy-too?" Like the Black Mirror episode.

@Painted-Iris group

The girl looked up at Ivy, who seemed to be staring at her in shock. At the question, she simply nodded. She didn't know what else she would be called.

@amber_is_in_a_loop

"Okay, Ivy-too." She'd managed to sort through her own head. "You're telling me that I dove through a mirror and into the mirror realm plagued with Reflections who don't have a Counterpart. Is that right?"

@amber_is_in_a_loop

Ivy burst into a fit of nervous giggles, her expression only betraying how terrified she felt. What the hell was happening?
"Okay. Well then, as the Reflection, you're the boss. What do we do now?" she managed through her laughing.

@Painted-Iris group

Ivy-too only frowned. "I don't know. This has never happened. I guess the best thing to do is to try and get you back through a mirror," she said. Her voice seemed steady, but her actions were just the opposite as the Reflection was now standing and pacing. The hood of her cloak was down as well. Were anyone to walk in at that very moment they would see both look-alikes and know something was off.
"Until we find one, we need to get you something to disguise yourself. No one can know this happened."

@Painted-Iris group

The Reflection shrugged. "I don't see why not," she said, assisting in Ivy's search for something to cut her hair with. There was a chance that her own hair would be cut as well at the same time, but there was also the possibility that it wouldn't. They were on the same side of the mirror now.

Ivy searched around, finally finding a rusty bit of metal with a relatively sharp edge. "Well, Ivy-too, I hope we're up to date on our tetanus shots." She held the hunk of metal up to her hair, sawing at a thick strand of her luscious dark hair until it fell to the floor.

@Painted-Iris group

"Our what-" the girl was about to ask, until she saw the hair fall to the ground softly. The Reflection stared at it for a few moments, half expecting her own hair to fall as well. After a few seconds, Ivy-too didn't feel anything happen. She grinned at her Counterpart, happy that the idea worked.

Ivy grinned back. "That was kind of liberating." So she set to work chopping a good 3 inches of length all around. It took a minute, but when she was done she ran her hands through her new style; it was wonderfully uneven and fresh. "What do you think?" she asked her Counterpart.

@Painted-Iris group

Ivy-too hummed, unsure of the unevenness of it. She did however like the way Ivy looked with it short. "Not too bad. Looks good short," she replied honestly. "Once you go back, I'll look the same by the time you're fully awake over there. I think it'll be a nice change."
