Vincent put the now warm ice pack down, "Do you think we'll ever actually make it out there?"
Vincent put the now warm ice pack down, "Do you think we'll ever actually make it out there?"
Aeraphina looked up from her book and stared at Vincent. "What do you mean?"
Vincent looked up at her and gestured to the window, "Out there, into the world saving people, Will we actually make it that far or will our powers kill us or will we just stay on the island."
"Obviously I'm going to go out and save people," she said. "What's the point of going here if I can't? I'm always going to try."
Vincent stood up and opened the window, "You're right as usual." he let the cool air beat against his face and muss his hair. "The suns setting."
She set her book down on her bed and stood up, walking towards the window and standing next to Vincent. "Yeah… It's beautiful."
Vincent smiled watching the Pink orange and purple sky, He glanced down at Aeraphina, "Yes yes it is." realizing he was beginning to stair he quickly looked back at the sky.
She relaxed on the windowsill, resting her hand on her chin. "Sometimes I wish I could fly, you know? You can get off of campus more easily and just find somewhere quiet and watch the night sky."
"Escape the noise, you can do that in the library, enjoy the night sky somewhere quiet…" he looked at the window judgeing the distance between the roof and the balcony, they were on the top floor so it wasn't that far. "If you really wanted to i could freeze some hand holds into place and climb up."
"You'll give yourself another headache," she said. "I don't want you to overuse your powers."
Vincent shrugged and climbed out the window, " I've cooled down a climb would help remove energy." he froze a foot hold and places to put his hands and started climbing, "whether you are or not I'm going up."
She groaned, rolling her eyes. "Fine, fine, I'm coming."
Vincent clambered on to the roof and sat down his legs dangling off the edge, "Now that is a pretty sky indeed."
Aeraphina followed, trying not to shiver at the freezing handles. She pulled herself onto the roof and heated her hands, absorbing the last of the sunlight she could to do so. "Yeah, it is. Especially with that sun."
"Yeah" he watched the sun dip below the horizon, the first stars were beginning to appear.
Aeraphina smiled, watching the sun disappear. Eventually, as the stars began to shine in the night sky, her eyelids fell heavy and fell asleep on Vincent's shoulder.
Vincent felt Aeraphina's head on his shoulder and let her stay, after he got cold he froze some steps leading to the balcony and picked Her up. Cradling her head he carefully walked down and stepped onto the balcony. He crept inside and set Aeraphina down on her bed, covering her with a blanket before shutting the window and falling asleep himself.
