"Ouch, my dignity," Beatriz mumbled, giggling. "You sound like my sister."
"Ouch, my dignity," Beatriz mumbled, giggling. "You sound like my sister."
Zia laughed. "Thanks?" she said, laughing softly.
"She's… strange, but pleasant enough. Usually," Beatriz explained with a small giggle.
Talin sighed softly when the girls started bickering, slightly relieved when his mother appeared and took them to the parlor. He realized he still had Zia’s bag and he quickly dropped it off outside the door of the empty room, sure to tell a maid who’s bag it was and to bring Zia there after they were done with the queen. With the bag dropped off, he sighed and ran a hand through his hair, trying to decide where his father would most likely be so he could tell him about the queens party planning.
Zia laughed softly. "Huh. Okay." She said with a smile. "I guess you're feeling better now, then?" She asked.
(Merp)
(I've been waiting for someone to post! XD)
(I had no clue how to continue the situation so I just kinda went quiet 😂)
(yeahh XD)
(Well, I haven't had much time to develop Cassie in this world, maybe Talin could pull her aside to talk to her since she started the fight?)
(Sure! :) I’ll post and we can do that)
(Cool!)
Talin found his father fairly quickly and told him what was going on, and the king’s response was exactly what he expected- he didn’t seem to care and he was more focused on running a kingdom and its economy. He sighed as he left the study where his father was, wandering back down to where his mother and the ladies were. Doing absolutely nothing all day didn’t seem appealing to him so he thought over the small fight between the girls, trying to figure out who had started it and eventually deciding it was mostly Cassie. He asked one of the female guards to get her from the parlor since he wasn’t allowed in, deciding he should probably talk to her.
A small tap on her should startled her and she turned around, barely holding back from slapping whoever touched her. When she saw it was a guard, she relaxed. "His highness wishes to speak with you. Please follow me." Not surprising but okay. She followed the guard out and stopped in front of the prince.
“Miss Cassie,” He said with a nod, covering her a small smile, “Do you have time for me to talk to you for a second?” Talin ran a hand through his hair and tried to think of what to say. He didn’t want to be mean, but he wanted to make sure she wasn’t going to purposely argue with any of the other girls or start any bad fights.
"Of course. Is something wrong?" She knew exactly what was wrong, she didn't have to ask. She had a horrible temper and a constant need to prove to herself and everyone around her that she was more than a number.
He nodded, clasping his hands behind his back as he tried to assume the most princely pose he could, “I was wondering, were you the one that started the argument between the girls earlier?”
(I had to do an elongated version of the walk of shame, I didn't mean to leave you for 50 minutes)
She sighed heavily. "I had a feeling this was why you called me out here. Technically, yes, I was the one who started it. But, to be fair, I simply stated a fact and she got snarky with me. I don't like being treated like I'm less than."
(Oof, it’s alright, I was busy too so you’re all good)
Once again, he nodded, “That’s fair. Though did anything need to be said in the first place?” He rocked on his feet and looked at her, studying her features as he waited for her answer. She was attractive, he could easily say that, all the girls were.
"I believe so. She was complaining about music lessons and I got a little defensive since I didn't even get a basic education, let alone extra curricular ones." A little is a major understatement. If we we're back in Kent, I would've socked her in the teeth.
The prince was a little surprised at that. He hadn’t really been paying attention to the argument, but not getting even basic education? That really surprised him. “Again, fair.” He went silent for a moment before continuing, “Would I be able to make a deal with you? I could arrange for you to be able to get a basic education along with whatever other classes you’d like to learn more about, and you try not to start any huge feuds?” He cracked a small smile, tipping his head to the side slightly.
She couldn't help but smile back at him. "Oh, that'd be lovely. However, I cannot promise anything. I'm a very defensive person and have the worst temper ever. I'm a little bit of a firecracker." Understatement of the century.
“As long as you try your absolute best, and I’ll be sure to handle things if any of the ladies, including you, get too out of hand.” He have her another crooked smile and immediately started thinking of how he was going to arrange her education, knowing it was going to be slow with the Selection going on and the ball the ladies had to plan. “I’ll warn you now, it’ll be a lot of work and you’ll be quite busy,” He said, just to make sure she knew what she was getting into.
"Oh please, busy is my middle name. Try hving to balance an alcoholic mother, four younger siblings, a writing career, and writer's block all at the same time right at Christmas. That's busy."
His eyes widened slightly and he was clearly impressed, “That is busy.” Talin nodded, his smile growing, “Then I have a feeling juggling the Selection and an education will be a piece of cake for you.”
