(Yeah I'm here)
"Do you wanna talk about it?"
She shrugged and looked down. "I do, but I hate talking to people about my problems. Makes me feel vulnerable…if that makes sense," she replied quietly.
"Yeah I understand." He said gently. "You can tell me I won't tell anyone. Only if you want to."
She took a deep breath and looked up at him. "The night my…when my parents disappeared, there was a thunderstorm. The sound of rain brings me back to that night. Has since I was young," she said, crossing her arms across her chest.
Otto frowned. "Oh…wow I'm sorry. Do you know why they left?"
"I have no idea, they either abandoned me or were taken by force. Neither sounds good to me," she whispered.
( Can I join?)
(Yea)
Polaris walked behind most of the others, some of the signs in her arms. She stopped, looking at the landscape around them. She looked back up and realised that they had continued on. She quickly ran back up to the group, hoping they didn't notice her absence. She went back to pondering over her thoughts, but made sure this time to keep up with the others.
Sofia sighed. "Well so much for trying to not sound depressing," she said, shrugging. She wiped off her face, wet from escaped tears. "But it's no big deal, let's just change the subject."
Otto tried to think of something quick. "My childhood!" He frowned. "No wait…"
She tilted her head and frowned. "How about um…what's one hobby you have, that I don't know about?" she asked curiously, changing the subject.
Seth had hardly been listening; usually he tried to be kind to his friends, but when it came to emotions, he usually shut down.
Otto thought for a moment. "Well, I do embroidery."
Polaris listened to the others conversation. She kept silent, respecting the boundaries that was set up around them. Besides, she didn't have much to say about her backstory. She never knew her parents, so there was nothing to talk about. She looked up at the sky, noticing where a few stars were already rising, despite it still being light.
"Really? That's super cool," she said, smiling slightly.
Seth walked a little closer alongside Polaris, who seemed to also not be part of this conversation that was a little too heart-to-heart for his taste, and about pasts. He didn't have much of a past himself.
Otto smiled. "Thanks! I think so too!" He leaned in her direction. "What about you?"
"Well…I mean, I sing," she replied.
"Oh that's great!"
"Thank you," she said, grinning. "I don't really sing in front of others though."
"Yeah I understand." He said. "I don't embroider in front of others either."
"Well that sucks, I'd love to see some of your work," she said, looking at him and smiling softly.
He scratched the back of his head. "I can show you some when we get back if you'd like…."
