"Well I'm not sure about your reasoning," Madelyn shrugged, "But, forward it is do we want to go multiple rooms in or stay close to the entrance?"
"Well I'm not sure about your reasoning," Madelyn shrugged, "But, forward it is do we want to go multiple rooms in or stay close to the entrance?"
Orion and Althea made their way to a book in which a lot of chapters were. They flipped to the last page to see golden writing appearing bu itself.
(Maybe we shouldn’t find the book immediately, let’s explore for a bit)
(This ksnt that book lol, it's a random book that's filled mathematical formulas)
"Well I'm not sure about your reasoning," Madelyn shrugged, "But, forward it is do we want to go multiple rooms in or stay close to the entrance?"
“Stay close to the entrance because stay shares the same amount of letters as four.” Grinned Cade. Chelsea nodded eagerly.
(I’ve decided that the Cheshires have what seems to be really bad reasoning.)
"Why four?" Madelyn asked moving over to one of the book selfs. The titles across the spines held mostly unreadable text. No doubt all the useable books have been sacked from from the first few rooms anyways, but there is no reason no to look.
“Because fear also has four letters.” Chelsea explained. She said it like it was a logical reason.
“Wait, what are we looking for?” Chester asked, looking at all the purple books.
"Tarot card explanations, my dears," Madelyn smiled. "Now remember this is a clue from Cassandra so we might have to reach a little for an explanation." She pulled a book off a self, flipping through a few pages before discarding it as nonsense to one of the tables. Random letters on paper not useful for any one.
(Woahhhh. The update. :O)
“Right.” Chelsea nodded. She and Chester started to look around. Were they helpful? Probably not. But we’re they flipping through books, acting like they were helpful? Yes.
(Idk of I like the update or not lol)
Althea looked at the book with golden lettering. Feeling the texture of the pages, she turned a page back too see that the book was filled with many mathematical formulas. She quickly flipped through the pages, reading as many formulas as she could
Quinn and Oliver began down the halls, settling on one that seemed rather old and foreign, most of the book's backing already in the process of crumbling. "Here?" The blonde spoke up, though barely waited for an answer, leading Oliver down the dim corridor and into a section that smelled like an antique store.
(The update… I don't know about this)
"Well," Madelyn dropped another useless book on the table. "Next room?" she asked the twins looking that the mostly cleared selfs. I'd doesn't take much effort to distinguish readable books from those that are not.
Orion and Althea scoured the small place they were in before exitng and going to another place. While there they encountered an old man in a black cloak. "Excuse me sir, but might I know where books based on magic are?" He asked. Althea grabbed his arm and pulled him back "what are you doing idiot?!" She hissed at him. Turning to face the old man, she smiled "I'm sorry, my brother Axton likes to joke around." She said and hurriedly walked away

Chelsea looked at Madelyn and then back at the book in her hands. “Of course.” She put the book back in it’s spot. Chester quickly put his book back as well.
(I’m sorry, I’m like really tired. e-e)
//ack how much did I miss
Madelyn to the next set of doors across the room. She holds one open for the twins before asking, "Is it just me or are the non-wonderlandians acting strange to you guys?"She thinks back to the several unusual encounters over the last few hours.
(Not much, really.)
“Thank you.” The Twins nodded before going through the doors. Chester began to look around while Chelsea spun around.
“Non-wonderlandians are always strange.” Chelsea stopped spinning and put on a huge grin, “Though the dude who set fire to himself was acting particularly strange. He was totally flirting with you.”
“And good ol’ Oliver was pretty jealous.” Chester snickered, appearing next to his sister.
“Definitely.”
Everything in the room went silent for a bit right be for the door behind Madelyn slammed shut. The noise bringing her out of the tiny moment of shock, "They what?!" This is … oh … oh no… what does this even mean? How do I even act knowing this now? "You're… You're trying to fool me right?"
“Not right now.” Chester shrugged, “You can ask any Wonderlandian, they’ll tell you the same thing.”
“Yep! Plus, just by looking at the way they look at you is a pretty dead giveaway.” Chelsea grinned, linking arms with Chester.
"But I'm not what people would call 'desirable'" Madelyn put air quotes around the word as she tried to explain to the twins why they had to be wrong. "I'm insane, I am broken, and most importantly I'm a Carter. Being a Carter is a liability and being to closely associated to one is dangerous not just to someone's social standing, but also their personal safety." She laughed nervously trying to make this terrible and unfortunate truth into a joke. "I mean come on, I don't even have matching eyes."
"What are we looking for, exactly?" Quinn spoke up with a sigh, an almost bored expression on her pale features as she continued to leaf through heavy books. They had approached a section on necromancy, and what seemed like dreams, though so far nothing had come up.
"Tarot cards, I think? The ones we received," Oliver mumbled after a long pause, still stuck on the persistent thought of getting the card 'the fool.' Was he a fool in general? Or was he a fool for taking a part in this…adventure? The thoughts continued to circle him and he couldn't seem to get a clear answer no matter what.
Reyna turned to Theta and smiled a little before walking down a random corridor, thread clutched tightly in her hand. She poked through a large, ornate book, but deemed it useless and moved on.
Suddenly, Theta saw a movement of white in the other aisle. She turned around, started, but there was nothing except for an open book on the floor. She laughed nervously. All this talk of cults must be messing with my head…

“Oh, Linear, you are… desirable.” Chelsea winced a little at the choice of wording, “But you’re amazing! You’re a Carter, but you’re also Linear. (No it’s not autocorrect, Linear is going to be Madelyn’s nickname.. uwu Are you okay with that, Ava?)”
“Plus, trust us! We’re the Cheshire twins!” Chester grinned, power posing. Chelsea gave him a look. “Okay, Cheshire’s aren’t trustworthy. But wE KNOW.”
(Yeah, it's fine)
Oh, the things they don't know, Madelyn thought turning to a book shelf. "You're tricksters, but thats not quite the same thing. The two of you aren't cursed the same way I am." She grabbed a book off the shelf, "There are so many warning signs surely no one can ignore them all."
