“Welcome to the club of missing and dead parents,” she said, eyes flaring as she spread her arms. “It doesn’t give you special rights to be a b-tch. That’s not a club perk - sorry.”
//aaand I have made Reyna rude
Oops
Sorry
"That was a polite greeting. I'm sorry that I don't understand mortal customs."
Oliver leaned back, glancing back and forth as he watched everyone talk. Shaking his head faintly, he returned back towards his cards, shuffling them once again.
Cade frowned at Reyna’s sudden outburst. He continued to pat Chelsea’s head, who drained her cup of hot chocolate.
"Listen, I got a weird basket and this puppy, so I'm just hoping that that can be explained soon."
“I think telling someone to bow to you would be considered fairly rude in any custom, but whatever. I guess Death is freaky and regularly enjoys having people bow to them for no real reason,” she said drily.

"You dare insult my father?" Susan asked calmly, her hair floating around wildly.
"Another will take up the title of death"
"No, nobody can. It's something you are, not that you become."
"Your father clearly has kept quite a lot from you."
“Yes, I very much dare insult your father. Seeing as of currently he can’t do anything…” she shrugged. A little voice in the back of her mind told her to shut up and be kind, the girl was as stressed as she was, but she ignored it. It was fun to be the person yelling for once.

"No, actually. It's ancient laws. You know, like how gravity does something or other and there was a man called Newton who said that?" Susan knew her father didn't keep secrets. But she didn't know much about physics.
//I mean newton’s Hair didn’t know gravity existed so
Oliver watched Reyna say that to Susan, a classic troublemaker grin slowly spreading over his face. This is going to be fun.

"Why not the man is a thief," Anger boiled over in Maddie, "He take people lives and seals them away from the people that love them. Then you walk in to my home tell me to bow, maybe you should understand how your father has affected people and start being more delict with your word choice." she smiled, "So Please take a seat, at my table and have some tea, so we can work on finding all of our loved ones."
A chuckle escaped Thanatos mouth which transformed into full out laughing. "Ancient law" He pushed out between laughs."Ancient law does not bind it to one person, it can be changed, or even passed on."
“Yes, I very much dare insult your father. Seeing as of currently he can’t do anything…” she shrugged. A little voice in the back of her mind told her to shut up and be kind, the girl was as stressed as she was, but she ignored it. It was fun to be the person yelling for once.
"STOP BOTHERING ME!!!" Susan roared, suddenly the room turned cold as ice, it was paralyzing. Her voice instilled terror in any who heard it, it compelled you to so as she said. It was the voice of death. Of course, Susan didn't even know she could so this, so she was stunned too. She watched as the windows frosted over, and felt the room grow cold from fear.
(I want her to have a panic attack now if that's okay?)
//while I do think this wouldn’t affect Thanatos at all, it does bring up the question -
In this version of myth, does Hades rule death? In most stories he does, but we really should clear it up before this escalates any farther

Turning from Susan, Thanatos approached Maddie. "Death is not a thief, he is a guide to lead the dead to their eternal homes." He explained trying to keep a kind tone in his voice. "You mother isn't gone, she has simply found a new place to stay."

(He rules the dead. There's a clear difference. Death rules us all. He is the fear of leaving the mortal realm, and the fear of change. But he is the cruel kindness that makes us human. Well, that's how Quoth explains it, and it's pretty accurate.)

//I'm assuming death is like Hades' right hand man

Nooooo not whatsoever. Death is totally different.
//no, no
In Greek mythology (which Hades is from), Hades is the god of the underworld. All creatures of the underworld bow to him (we are excluding primordial). Now, the god of Death (ironically named Thanatos), is one of said creatures. He is Hades’s righthand man, his main servant. Which is how I assumed it would be here, but I did want to clear it up. So, are we going by Greek myths or no?

A ball of blue flame appears in Thanatos' hand which melts the ice and frost almost instantly. "Stop your magic now or I will force you to " He ordered .
