“I hope you all remember our actual objection on this trip.” Chelsea said darkly, annoyance edging her voice, “I’ll give you a hint, it’s not romance.” Cade glanced to the side.

“Something wrong?” Virgil asked the pair, eyebrows raised.
At the same time, Reyna snapped,” I swear on the throne if you try to talk to me about that right now…” Get it together, Reyna. You don’t even like your mom that much! But she’s my mom. She’s insane. We all are. She’s cruel. She’s kind to me. She’s a monster. She’s my mother. “That is literally the whole reason I’m awake and not asleep!”

The twins looked at her and raised an eyebrow. Chelsea crossed her arms. Then the two flickered away from reality.

Reyna rolled her eyes and flipped off the air where they’d been sitting.
Virgil made a mental note not to ask again. The twins looked like they would’ve loved to do worse - probably the only reason being that the three seemed to be good friends.

Looking at the twins Altheia laugh darkly “you don’t think we forgot do you? We all do t get along so excuse me if finding romance to fill the gap in our hearts.”

Oliver was leaning against a tree and looking at his hands as he let the others around him argue. Yelling wouldn't make a difference. He knew that. Shaking his head faintly, he shuffled his cards, suddenly wishing that he could bring Maddie back with a simple card trick. But, life wasn't that simple.

Reyna glanced around at the crumbling group and buried her face in her hands. Why are we even doing this? You could leave everyone and find your mom on your own. It’d be faster and easier. I can’t leave my friends behind. Are they really your friends? Cade and Chelsea didn’t even hesitate to snap at you for no real reason. They’re under stress. We all are. And yet you seem the only one who’s calm. That’s a lie.
Eventually she stood up and began to pace, shaking her head. She glanced over the group again before turning into the forest, not wanting to see anyone.

Oliver looked up at Reyna and let out a sigh, shaking his head faintly. The whole group was falling apart because of their separate goals. Each person wanted their parents, and some are willing to leave in order to complete that. Why are you helping them? You don't have parents. Even if they manage to find their family, you'll never find yours. What's the point?

A crack sounded in the forest. Reyna stared at the crack she’d made in a tree and continued on, not even sure where she was going. After a moment, she sighed and pulled herself up into a tree at the edge of the clearing, back to where she’d been ten minutes ago but in a tree.
