Erik was an hour and half late. There was a problem with this big project and it seemed like he was only person able to fix it, despite the fact that everyone were all very qualified to handle the issue. He was busy and focused he had completely forgotten to text Denzel that he was coming home late and didn't remember until after he was half way home. He had silently cursed himself and then started to speed a little to get home quicker. He parked in the garage and walked inside the house. He set his bag down by the door. "Denzel? I'm home."
(This alright?)
Denzel walked downstairs, smiling. "Erik! Come one, I made food." He said happily. "What happened at work?" He rambled on from there, heating up the food he made earlier. "I mean, really, ma'am, get your children under control before you go shouting at the obviously new girl. really, the poor thing was in tears by the end of her shift. And she was, I don't know, sixteen on her first job? The woman was almost forty, and had a cross necklace and a Bible sicking out of her purse. You'd think religion would've taught her some compassion." ((Sorry, everything's coming in at once!))
((Yeah sorry, conversation happened))
(Its all good!)
Erik followed him into the kitchen and listened to his rambling. He had a small smile on his face as he listened to Denzel. He grabbed some silverware and started to eat once the food was warmed up. "There's nothing we can do about it now." He said. "Just take a breather and calm down."
He sighed. "I know, I know. It just gets me really annoyed." He said, handing him the plate. "But is it bad that I'm happy I didn't have her?"
"There's nothing bad about that. You have no reason to feel guilty." He said. Erik finished his dinner and set the plate down in the sink. "Come on, let's go get ready for bed."
Denzel smiled, nodding. "Yeah, let's go to bed." He said, taking his hand.
Erin smiled and took his hand. He led him up the stair and their room. He immediately took off his tie, his jacket, and then started to unbutton his shirt.
Denzel grabbed a random old tee shirt and some shorts, quickly stripping down and changing.
He took off the rest of his work clothes and three them in the hamper. He slipped on some basketball shorts. He all but fell back in bed and threw a pillow over his face.
