“No,” Ty replied. “I used it to bash the guy’s head in. Plus, we don’t even have the tools to install it, if we did.”
He glanced down at his ribs, cursing. “The only good thing is that it doesn’t really hurt. Just makes it a little harder to breath.”
He winced as the girl tugged at the wires around his lung canister.
“I can fix it..,” he mumbled. “But I need time and a different state of mind.” He coughed, triggering the canister to send another load of sparks. He apologized, then continued. “I’m really sorry, again. And thank you. Thank you so much for saving me.”
He looked up at her with his one eye, almost smiling with relief. “And… who are you? You’re a Hunted… why did you save me?”

"I see," she said backing up and releasing the fragile wires. She nodded slowly and me his singular eye with her own pair. She smiled gently.

"I heard what that Goliath in there said," she explained. "You help a Hunted like myself. So why not return the favor, huh?" She shrugged her shoulders and stood up, holding out a hand to help the Enhanced boy in front of her. "How bad can you be?" He smiled widely, her eyes squinted and a small giggle escaped. Something hadn't done in a long time.

And though it may not have seemed like it, she still didn't trust the Enhanced, but he was the best thing she had. It was either work with it or go it alone, and being alone wasn't going to work out the best in a battle like this.

Taiga smiled. It had been so long since he’d witnessed this level of hospitality.
He took her hand, getting to his feet. He bushed off his pants and ripped shirt, slipping it back over his ribs.
He looked out into the barren wasteland through the Sanctum’s doors. He hadn’t been outside in so long.
“So… where do we go now? Assuming I stay with you,” he muttered. “This place is too stupidly dangerous to not team up, unless you attack me the second we’re outside these walls.”
He told his own blatant truth— he didn’t trust her. He knew the feud between Enhanced and Hunted. He didn’t trust her because he knew, for a fact, she didn’t trust him.

She glared at him. "You think that I'd waste my time saving your sorry ass just to kill you outside?" she scoffed. "Man, I didn't know that they put wires in yer brains too." She looked toward the doors in concern and anger. She knew that on the other side of those doors, there could've been any number of guards waiting. She just hoped the number was zero.

"You're either with me or against me. You don't have to trust me, but you do have to choose." She crossed her arms over her chest and locked eyes with the bionic boy. She has no room for fun, games, or error. Only decision.

The boy growled as she made the remark. He was just as irritated at himself as she was.
You see, he hadn’t chosen to be what he was. He was forced into it. They said he was a good fighter and needed him on their team.
Thing was, Taiga, as everyone knew, hated conflict and fighting. He wanted to be peaceful, and thought that the only way they were going to survive this new world was if everyone worked together, cogs and gears. This human was giving him a chance… something he hadn’t even thought was possible anymore.
Taiga stared her in the eyes, his one damaged one making slight humming noises as it tried to function.
After a pause, he held out his hand. It had been stained and mauled by the ground.
“Then I’m with you,” he said.

She shook the damaged hand of the boy in front of her, a small smile crossing her face. She was glad he decided to side with her, she wasn't very gung-ho about killing him, she saw that he had potential. She knew that the right choice was made when she gave him the ultimatum. She knew she could trust him.

She looked back to the doors for a brief second, then back at Ty.

She spoke in a very serious, 'no excuses' type of tone. "Here's the sitch, boy. In a bush out there, I have a backpack, I might have something to help patch you up quick before we progress further. Okay?" She didn't even wait for a response before she began creeping toward the doors of the building, carefully unsheathing her Enhanced knife. She beckoned Taiga over to her side with a lazy flick of the hand.

Taiga nodded and crouched alongside her, his hands barely grazing the floor and his feet making relatively no sound. His head napped around, looking for guards.
Well, if this wan an arena day, there’d be less. Almost all of them wanted to be a part of, or at least watch, the fight. Though, now that everyone had witnessed Ty’s “great escape” with help of a Hunted nonetheless, they’d be on their way— soon.
Shouts could still be heard from the arena. Disappointed booing and yelling could reach their ears and Ty shook his head with a labored sigh.
Suddenly, something else became audible. The shuffling and banging of feet on the hard ground, getting louder and louder.

Olive turned to Ty with a concerned look. She not only heard the footsteps, but she could, sure enough, feel them too. Her eyebrows were knitted together with a downwards tilt. She had nearly no clue what was heading toward them, but all she knew was that it couldn't have been good.

"D-do you have any idea of what t-that noise might be?" Vi stuttered. It wasn't like her to stutter so much. It wasn't like her to stutter at all really. It was obvious that she was nervous, some could even go as far as to say 'scared'. She had a feeling that it was that big lugger from before, and the thought of that made her relax a little, but also tense. What if he had gotten some huge powerup? What if it wasn't him? There were too many variables.

“It’s called a Colossus,” Ty said, his face pale and hands shaky. “Follow me.”
He shot out, his footsteps light and moving unusually fast for his condition. He kept looking over his shoulder, the booming steps seeming to get louder— even when he thought they couldn’t be.
He frantically glanced around. “Listen. We don’t wanna mess with the mechs,” he said. “We gotta pick the lesser of two evils. From what I know, they should have two guards up at the front. And, assuming you took out the last two, they would have upgraded to four in the meantime.”
Ty paused, stopping himself for a moment. He had to yell slightly louder as the Colossus burst down the hallway.
“You take the two on the left, I’ll take care of the right,” he commanded. “Got it? On three.”
“One,” he muttered, peeking around the corner.
He slid to the other side of the door, a guard turning for a brief moment but going back to post.
“Two.”
Ty held up a single finger and got into position. He finally let his finger drop, as he mouthed:
“Three.”

(A slightly graphic description of violence up ahead. Proceed with caution?)

Vi nodded quickly before sprinting through the doors of the Sanctum. She took a quick take to the right before dashing to her left and leaping to do a screw attack. Her knife flashed an electric blue as she spun into the stomach of an Enhanced. She knew that she didn't have to be dainty and fancy about it, so she saw to killing the first one quickly, being taken by surprise by the second.

Before she could even say "tilapia", it had her pinned to the ground. It was a terrifying sight indeed. Two fully mechanical eyes pierced into her fearful green ones. A disgusting yellow smile flashed at her as it turned it left arm into a buzzsaw. The revving was deafening and robotic laughter filled her ears. Olivia knew she had bitten off more than she could've chewed.

The buzzsaw quickly lowered down, making sharp contact with Olivia's stomach, blood splattering on the saw and the ground around them. The Hunted girl shrieked in pained and howled for help. The pain of her flesh tearing apart was way too much for her to bear, tears streamed down her face as she pleaded to live. She had never wondered what it was like to be dead and she, sure enough, wasn't ready to find out.

She placed weak hands upon the mechanical arm that was causing her pain. She tried her best to pull it back out and only slightly succeeded. She knew that she had pushed her luck when she got into the damned building, she just wasn't prepared for it to run out as she tried to get out.

(Totally fine, graphic details are welcome)

Taiga snuck up behind the two as their attention turned to the others. He quickly sunk his fists into the panels on one of their backs, sparks flying off.
He tugged at the panel, attaching himself like a leech to the guard’s back and finally prying it free. Underneath, he grabbed a handful of wires, tugging them out with all his force.
Still on the guard’s back, who was now staggering over, he tossed the panel like a frisbee with sharpened edges at the second guard. It clanked on the bot’s forehead, knocking him unsteady.
Taiga was too occupied with his guard already, so he wrapped his arms around the head of the one he was on, twisting with all his might.
A deafening crack sounded through the fighting as the guard’s body began to steam. But, Taiga couldn’t be bothered— he was already sprinting to the other one. He stopped dead in his tracks as a scream sounded out.
His head snapped around, seeing the blurry vision of the Hunted girl pinned by a bot.
He cursed under his breath, skidding on his feet and kicking into a full-on sprint. Will all the brute force he could call upon, he football tackled the guard, his buzzsaw removing itself from the girl’s skin and instead, sparking on the robotic canister of Ty’s ribs.
Taiga shoved the guard down, pinning him and forcing the bot’s own buzzsaw to it’s neck. And yet another guard taken down and steaming.
One more left, and he looked absolutely pissed.

Olivia coughed harshly, a thin line of blood splattering across her lips. She held her blood-gushing abdomen as she crawled toward a wall. Her breaths were hitched, pained, and clearly congested from the blood in her lungs. It was times like this that made her glad that there was someone to help her out. She probably would have been dead without some help every once in a while.

She smiled weakly and mouth the words 'thank you' to the Enhanced in front of her. She knew that at this point, she was practically useless, more of an obstacle than an ally. The only thing she had was an Enhanced knife and a really bad injury, and she was pretty sure that neither would help, so all she could do was watch helplessly.

Ty quickly looked back, seeing the last guard barreling toward him. He quickly yanked the buzzsaw, with much effort, off the guard he was standing over. He heaved it up, having it make contact with the Enhanced’s mechanic face. The brute force caused the both of them to stumble back, but Ty was quicker. He kept his momentum, swinging around a second time and lodging the saw within the guard’s neck.
The last guard fell to his knees as Ty stood there, hunched and panting like a dog. He looked back, his eyes like a caged wild animal.
Ty’s stomach lurched seeing the girl’s state and he instantly tore his shirt from his body, rushing over and applying pressure to her stomach.
“Can you walk?” he asked gently. “We have… w-we have to go. Now. Can you walk?”

(Hey, I want you to know that I have not forgotten about this, my brain is just experiencing the block of the century right now and I finding it hard to come up with a reply. But it's not your fault. I'll reply as soon as I can and promise I won't let this die so soon. Not if I can help it.)

@PaperHats business

(It’s totally okay. And you can completely turn it in any direction you want. Any extreme, any drama is free real estate. Thanks for taking the time to let me know and caring, btw. Don’t worry, you’re good :)
