"Okay." Raven stood up, leaning on the armrest until the stars were out of vision. He went to his and Rae's room and fell asleep.
"I'm gonna take a nap as well." Rae said then went to her and Raven's room. She fell asleep almost immediately.
Mrs. Matthews left, just as Chrissa walked out. "Is Raven okay?" she asked the group.
Rae fell asleep quickly. She had a dream and started muttering in her sleep. "Raven…Did you forget… to eat the purple banana?" She whispered at one point.
Raven stirred a bit. "…What…? What banana…? I don't even like bananas…"
"I think… I ate the blue pineapple… instead." Rae muttered.
"……" Raven fell back asleep for a while before waking up with a start, panting. Just a nightmare stupid, you're in an apartment. There aren't any trees in here. He glanced over at Rae, who was still sleeping. He got out of bed and walked over to her. "Rae?" He whispered. No response. He hesitated before laying next to her and falling back asleep, trying to forget about the forest.
Rae stirred a little. Raven was sleeping next to her, in her bed. She smiled, then fell back asleep.
Raven kept waking up, but he did his best to not wake Rae. Eventually, it was 6:00 a.m. and he was asleep, though it was light.
Rae woke up she crept out of bed, trying not to wake Raven. She got out to the kitchen and made some cereal.
"Rae…?" Raven opened his eyes drowsily to find he was alone. His heart started racing. Where did she go? She probably just went to get food, stupid. But what if she's hurt?! I can't lose someone else! Calm down.
Rae ate her cereal then turned on a movie on her iPad.
Raven got out of bed, looking around anxiously. "Rae? Are you there?"
“I’m here. What’s wrong?” Rae saw that raven was freaking out.
"Nothing… I-I'm fine, I just… I thought you left…" A pink tint came to his cheeks and he looked away, embarrassed.
“It’s okay. I’m safe here with my spoon to defend myself.” Rae said jokingly. She jumped up and held the spoon as if it was a sword. “On guard!”
Raven jumped a bit, startled. "It's not you I'm worried about, really… I… I-I don't want to lose you."
Rae stopped her joke. “I don’t want to lose You either.” She stepped over and hugged her brother.
Raven hugged her back, trying not to think about their parents. They had died a few years before, leaving twelve year old Raven with Rae, who was only sixteen at the time. Rae had become a sort of guardian or parental figure for Raven, and he didn't want to lose that protection again.
“I miss them too.” Rae whispered.
"You never told me what happened to them… I… I was too young, wasn't I?" Raven looked up at Rae. All he knew was that his parents were dead, not how they had died.
Rae nodded. “I was worried how you would react, you didn’t need to know at the time.” She said.
Raven hesitated, his voice catching in his throat a bit. "…W-well?"
Rae sighed. (Wait how should they have died?)
(Uh gotta be something bad for her to not tell him… got their spines ripped out in from of Rae? That's the only way to kill a Lycan after all, at least when they're not in their human form)
