Maristela looks down while she speaks. "Here. It has always been my safe spot but since I brought you here, when you were hurt and bleeding, it is now attracting sirens. I have to find somewhere else. Far east is where my family's pod is. If I go through Death Valley, all the rotting sailor smells can cover my wounded scent. It used to be a hunting ground for sirens, but no pirates sail there anymore. Most of the sirens have left. Then I can find a place from there."
Flint nods, processing the information for a few seconds. "Thank you, Iā¦ I'm sorry about this whole thing," He looks down, knowing it's his fault that she is injured and has to move, it's his fault that the fairies all hate him and it's his fault that he's all alone. The thoughts leave a pit in his stomach.
(does Flint want to go with Maristela? we can make some underwater breathing seaweed)
(Sure, i don't think there's much left for Flint on the island and the fairies all hate him so i don't see why not)
"You should get back to your family." Maristela stares at the vast sea ahead.
"I don't have one, and even if I did I can't get off this island. I'm kind of stranded," Flint looks around the cave, calculating his chance of survival on the island, although considering he never had an education there wasn't much 'calculating' about it, it was more of an assumption or guess.
"Laminaria shells!" Maristela gasps with excitement, for which she feels she finally found a friend. "Another wise known as Oarweed stones, if mixed correctly, can develop sorta a gill in your throat, so you can breath underwater. My grandmother was a potionist. She would read me recipes like bedtime stories. I just need some fresh water, salt water, dirt, a fish, seaweed, and the shells. Also a rock, a heavy one, and some twigs. I can get the shells and the fish and the seaweed and the salt water. Can you get the rest? Wow, I should of probably given you time to process all that. Do you need to write it down?"
"I probably should but I don't have anything to write it down on or with. Could you repeate what I need to get quickly? I'll try remember." He says, preparing to go.
"A bowl for mixing, a cup of fresh water, a rock that can fit in the bowl, some twigs, and dirt."
Flint nods, "I'll be back," he says before leaving. He finds twigs, dirt and a rock easily. He has a tin in his bag that he hopes will work as if not he wouldn't know where to find a bowl. He goes back to the fresh water lake to refill his flask which he had almost finished.
Maristela heads to the ocean, alert of her surroundings. She collects her end of the supplies fast and efficiently. She arrives in the cove just as Flint walks into the clearing.
"Ahoy," Flint greets, setting down the things he's collected on the edge of the water. He sits down and looks at Maristela expectidly.
