Will curled up into a ball again.

"Are you a coward?" Death asked.

“Yes.” Will mumbled.

"Nevertheless, it must be done." Death said, grasping Will by the shirt collar and dragging him along.

“Sirrrrr.” Will whined.

"It must be done." Death said.

“Doesn’t the world just need a Hogfather?” Will complained.

"Yes. It does. Right down to the little helpers.

“Ughhhh, can’t you get your granddaughter to do it? It could help her understand.”

"No. She will already be busy enough remembering everything else she forgot, as well as saving the Hogfather."

“Can’t you get some other dead guy?”

"No, you aren't even dead, not really. Everyone else went on to the afterlife but you refused, for whatever reason. I cannot take some poor soul from their eternal resting place and then break it to them that the world might end. It has to be you."

“Wait. I’m not dead?”

"Well, technically yes, you are dead, just not officially."

“Are you trying to make me have an existential crisis, Sir?”

"No. What even is an existential crisis anyway? I never understood why humans would question reality. Reality is quite reliable, people should stop questioning it."
