Here,” she said, handing him the umbrella. “It won’t extend all the way, so I guess the last few steps will be luck.” She took a deep breath, and with one hand on the umbrella, stepped onto the most faded piece. It held and nothing happened. “Good luck to me.”
Rainy's heart pounded wildly as she listened to Maya start to cross over. "Be careful," she whispered
She did well for the first half, but soon had to stop. “Guys… I can’t tell which one is the most faded here,” she said. She sounded a little scared, voice trembling.
Eli took the umbrella and watched anxiously. He really hoped this would work. She could end up with a broken leg. They had no idea how far down the pit was.
(Have to go for a bit… feel free to use Eli!)
"Do you need a light or –or something?" Rainy could hear the fear in her voice. The idea that fearless Maya was scared sent shivers down her spine. "What can we do to help?"
“I- I don’t know. A light would probably be helpful,” she called back.
//maya: ahah adventure this is fun
maya: …
maya: o sh*t I could actually die
maya: oh
maya: oh no
Rainy told Eli to toss his phone to Maya, which he did. "Use the flashlight on that," she said, rubbing her hands together anxiously.
(gtg to dance class, back in about an hour)
//bye
Maya caught it, turning on the flashlight. “Thank you,” She said. “It’s the one on the right, I think.” She hesitantly stepped onto it and continued. At the very end, she visibly relaxed when she made it. “Rainy was the right - it’s the most faded ones. People have been down here before, that means.”
“People have been down here? Who would want to travel down this place?” Eli wondered aloud.
“Who knows? Anyways, you guys can come across now.”
"Okay, lead the way," Rainy said to Eli, taking a deep breath. She was relieved that Maya had reached the far side safely, but now it was her turn.
“This is going to be hard,” Eli murmured to himself. He went slow, directing Rainy’s movements to each stone.
"H-how close are we?" She asked shakily. "To the far side?"
“Not too far! You should be over in about a minute!” Maya called.
“Maya’s right, just go slow,” Eli said, watching their feet as they stepped.
"Okay," Rainy said. After a minute, she breathed, "sorry I came along. I didn't think I'd be so useless."
They soon reached the other side. “You aren’t useless,” Eli said back to her, shaking his head.
“You helped us figure out how to cross this, and you set of the lever,” Maya said. “Your turn, Pocky!”
Rainy smiled softly but let the subject drop. "Be careful Pocky!" she called.
Pocky took a deep breath, and crossed to the other side with the others.
(I am, I was just waiting to see if anything else was going to happen..)
(yeah same. I guess were waiting for @ImNotCrazyImAFangirl)
