Armand shook his head a little before plodding back to the door. He could see the heart, that was for sure. He was unsure about holding Rowan up the whole way back to his office, though he hoped the electricity would ground out after a while and her muscles back in control. He paused next to Nyir, looking between her and Yuki tiredly. "Maybe you two could talk. Oh, and Kodiak wanted to talk to you. Been blubbering the whole while." he made a weak attempt at a joke before exiting.
(bedtime! Surry!)
(Ok. G’night then.)
“Talk or fight?”, Yuki asked before Armand left. “There’s no way we can just talk this out!”
"I think it's more of a 'leave, or play nice and I'll see you in my cell later,' kind of things." he nodded. "Nyir's good company, give 'er a chance."
(So's to not leave you hanging)
Yuki looked over at Nyir with an unreadable look on her face. “Put the gun down and we can talk.”
"I'll put the gun down when I believe I can." Nyir smirked at her, cocking her head to one side. "You're a loose cannon, Yuki."
“Ok, but I’ll really hurt you when I believe I need to.”, Yuki said. She cracked her knuckles. Yuki was addicted to popping her knuckles and did it all the time.
Nyir laughed. "I know. I don't doubt it." Her face became more serious. "I hope you believe me when I say I won't let Kodiak die."
Yuki looked down. “Believe me, I want to know I can trust you. Maybe someday I will. I just don’t like seeing him crying in a cell. I’ll protect my friends until I’m dead!”
"Looks like we're more similar than you would like." Nyir shrugged. "I'd give my life for the ones I care about."
“Why are you with President Harris then? She started this war. If she hadn’t started the war, you wouldn’t have to give your life to protect who you care about. Your husband would still be alive.” Yuki looked up at Nyir. She understood the pain Nyir must have felt when she lost her husband.
"I joined Harris because it was the rebels that attacked and killed the base where my husband was. Harris may not have protected that base, but the rebels are the ones who attacked it. Rebels kill civilians everyday. Innocents. People who just want to live in peace. Harris is no saint, but she kills only rebels because rebels actively oppose the Society." Nyir shook her head tiredly. "There's no side of the war where anyone is safe."
Yuki exploded with rage. “I was an innocent child with a family and many friends! Harris took that all away from me! They’re all gone! I’m a rebel and I always will be!”
(… when will the gladiator duel begin? Petree's still stuck in her cell. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, just pointing out that nothing has happened to Petree except she's making an escape plan that won't work)
(I know this is really late for me to tell you this, but probably should have told you that Petree is asexual. So am I.)
(It's not a problem with me, mayne. I think we could do the gladiator battle tomorrow if everyone's down, I think this is mostly wrapped up)
Nyir shook her head sadly at Yuki. "I know. I'm not saying it's your fault, but it is what it is. Rebels aren't good people. They kill without discretion. Now why don't you go back to your cell? The gladiator battle is soon."
“Are you saying that followers of President Harris are good people!? I find that almost funny! Wait… No I don’t!”, Yuki yelled. She had no clue what she was saying. Her voice was going a mile a minute. She started punching things. After Yuki finally calmed down she took a few deep breaths. She released the breath she didn’t realize she was holding. “I want to kill her.”
"Is Armand evil? Am I?" Nyir sighed, rolling her eyes. "Calm yourself. I didn't say all rebels were evil and all Harris followers were good."
“I think everyone has a little bit of evil in them. As for President Harris, she’s all evil.”, Yuki said in a calm tone. She leaned against the bars of a prison cell.
Armand helped Rowan to his office, returning her to the old room-like cell until she would recuperate, pulling in his wheely chair and sitting across from her. "Sorry." he muttered, spinning his chair uncomfortably.
"You didn't even think about it…" Rowan trailed off, hurt. "You knew I wouldn't hurt anyone. You knew I wouldn't have attacked." She continued on, rubbing at her already red rimmed eyes.
"I didn't have to think about it." he continued spinning, not really wanting to look at her as he was feeling ashamed. "My first thought was 'they have guns'. And that led to I know that you won't hurt anyone, but they don't know that; they only know that Yuki is dangerous." he stopped finally, and looked at her, anticipating her next reply.
"I don't want Kodiak to die and I don't even know where Petree is… We left Yuki with Nyir who has a gun and could kill her." Rowan buried her face in her hands, unwilling to imagine what could happen to her friends.
"Yuki's assigned cell is here; and we aren't allowed to kill." he looked at her seriously. "Nyir is my friend here. The person who does trust me even if you won't. Yuki is going to be fine." he reassured her. He was beginning to lose his edge around her. She saw through it anyways.
