Tanrial led them through the stall before fining the one she needed. The man at the stall gave her what she needed and in return, she gave him one of her healing potions, which he took without a second glance.
(Aha, see you then!)
Bernon glanced at Tanrial's purchase curiously. "What did you get?"
“Some more of the healing stones,” She held up one bag with the dark spheres glittering under the street lamp, “and these,” Tanrial help up another small bag, this one containing spheres of dark purples and violets, “Agility stones. Good for trade.”
(Hi! You're up early/late! ^^)
"Oh, cool." Bernon pondered this. "I can't believe I've never heard of any of this before. Agility stones, healing stones….these would have made my life a lot easier if I'd known."
(Ah, yeah… I couldn’t sleep)
Tanrial gave a slight shrug, “Not many people have known till recent years after… everything that’s happened. I’ll teach you more about it later.” She placed them in her bag.
Bernon nodded. "All right. Thanks. What's our next stop?"
She motioned with her head in the direction of a street corner where a small tent lay, surrounded by traveling carts and boxes, “We see the Mother about your powers.”
"Oooh, really? Okay!" Bernon brightened excitedly.
Tanrial rolled her eyes and gave him a playful nudge, “Calm down. She’ll be able to sense you from here.” She set off at a stead walk to the other side of the market. People were avoiding the tent as much as they could, like they could sense who sat within.
Bernon quieted, feeling a certain amount of trepidation. He followed Tanrial over to the tent, wondering what kind of person this "Mother" was.
(brb, gotta go do some gardening)
Tanrial flipped her hood down carefully as they neared, making sure the surrounding area was secure. “Don’t speak unless spoken to, don’t touch unless told, or sit until offered a seat,” She could sense the fear coming off him, “and relax.” She told him with a smile.
(I may be asleep when u get back but I’ll reply when I can)
(sorry for the wait)
He took a deep breath and returned her smile. "Okay. I'm ready."
(If you come back and I'm not here then I'll be back soon ^^)
(Sorry, I thought I’d get at least 6 hours of sleep)
Tanrial parted the entrance to the tent, revealing a larger interior and only lit by a few torches and oil lamps, placed on small stands around the space. Other tables lined the outside, with small objects, crystals and old leather bound books scattered across them.
In the centre, a woman sat on a small stool, hands in her lap. Her plale robes were sprawled behind her.
“Welcome back, Tanrial,” She said. Even though she looked old her voice was still pleasant for the ears, “You’ve brought a friend this time.”
(totally okay, sleep is important ^^)
Bernon looked around in wonder. The scene reminded him of those old fortune-teller stalls at the fair he'd visited when he was little. But somehow, this woman seemed much more powerful than any he'd seen before.
Tanrial nodded, “With your permission and help, Mother, can you find what power he has beneath?” Tanrial glanced sidelong at Bernon, making sure he was paying attention. The Mother stayed silent and quite still before giving a subtle nod.
“Very well. I sense the stones you have, agility isn’t it?” Tanrial nodded and silently handed them over, watching the woman warily. “Sit, boy.” She said.
Bernon carefully sat down in front of her, not sure what to expect.
The Mother grabbed Bernon’s hands, palms facing upwards and hers hovering a few inches above. She loses her eyes and dug deep into her own magic, trying to find what power he may have. She soon clenched her fists and remeoved her hands.
Above Bernon’s left, water had begun to swirl, on his right, lightning.
“Strange.” The Mother murmured.
Bernon blinked, trying not to stare at the lightning. Were those his powers? What did she mean when she said strange? He resisted the urge to ask her, instead waiting patiently.
Tanrial decided to use one of her forgotten powers, slipping into his mind to find any questions he might have and found some. She slipped out with a sharp intake of breath. She’d almost forgotten that sensation.
“Those are his power, yes?” The Mother nodded, “What do you mean by strange?” She pressed.
“Normally, water would be paired with ice, if it gets paired. Not lightning. Generally that is where the powers would stop but you also have the same shifting abilities as a High Evyn, wings and all.”
Bernon blinked. No way. There had to be some mistake. He would have noticed powers like that by now….right?
Tanrial glanced at Bernon, “Questions?” She asked.
"Um…yeah, sorry. How come I never knew about this? Did they get…I don't know, stuck inside me when I was a kid or something? Sorry, I shouldn't doubt you, ma'am."
“I’m honestly not sure. You probably have distant Eyvn ancestry and let’s where you have inherited them from. With humans they can be granted them but you’d know, so you’ve most likely been born with them.”
