Hi! I've really been into the idea of having another detailed fantasy roleplay, but I want this one to be smaller than my other. I'd like to put some time into making details of a world and characters with two other people, preferably two that aren't already in my other RP (so I can experience some new characters and such). Does this sound like something you'd want to join? Then go ahead and say so!
Hello! I would be interested in this!
Hey! As a starter question, what type of magic do you like?
I like it all for the most part. I've used elemental magic quite a bit in the past but I've started trying to develop new magic systems with harder rules that go beyond just manipulating elements and such. Does that kind of answer your question?
Hi, Robin!
I want you both to know that I like to answer in paragraphs. If you're more of a one sentence type of person, this particular thing may not be for you.
And Angel, that's actually pretty similar to my style. I'd love to do some experiments with this RP!
I'm okay with that :) it's always fun to add details. And as for the magic thing, I enjoy nature related magic. Animals, plants, but also stuff like simply being an angel/other being.
Cool sounds good! And I'm definitely on board with the paragraph responses. One-liners kill me, haha.
It kinda bothers me when people just respond with two words or something. Like, "Okay, and?" Said Jay. It just seems lazy…
Something like an angel thing would be cool! Maybe angels with magic? Or people with mutations (like wings or extra eyes) and magic?
Yeah, sounds like fun! I have two angel characters, and one of them has the most angelic sounding name ever, like seriously. 'Lloyd Saxon Windsor.'
Hey, that's my uncle's name! I don't have an angel character, but I have one that I could use for this that I like. We should plan out some details!
So a while ago I had an idea with essentially elemental angels where everyone had wings and they were associated with an element. Depending on the element their wings (white or black) had certain colored feathers as accents/highlights. I've forgotten a lot of what I was going to do with it, but I think there was an academy where they learned how to use their magic. It was all set in a sort of medieval kingdom-ish type world.
It needs a lot of work but if it sounds interesting we could start there. The first thing I'd do would be to change the magic to make it more interesting. Up to you guys though. I'm not gonna be upset if you don't want to use any of it. It's a really old idea
Sure! Lloyd was actually created with the knowledge that he would be the dead older brother for the tragic story of the other character, whoops ^^;. The main character is an adorable cinnamon roll named Nathaniel who doesn't deserve anything the cruel author's mind throws at him.
I think it's a great idea! It sounds interesting, and each character would sort of have their own personalities based on their element. I'd probably design a new character, though. Now that I think about it, quite a few of my characters are named after birds… I have Raven, Robin, and Jay, lol. And none of them are angels or can fly.
What if their wing shape and color were correlated to both their element and how strong their magic is? Like, different shapes could be for the actual type, but the color/shape of the feathers could indicate the magical potential they have?
And the magic school could have perches in their bedrooms for them to land on/take off from?
I suppose another thing is that I was kind of using the term angel loosely in that they're not true angels, they're more just a race of humanoid beings with wings that resemble what you think of when you think of typical angel wings.
Oooh I like both of those ideas, Reini!
That's what I was thinking. Angels going to a magic school wouldn't make sense, but humans with angelic (angel-like) wings would. I think wings and such should be accepted into the society. People should have salons for washing and maybe dyeing (old-fashioned dyeing, like you'd do with clothing), and stores could sell wing piercings, armor, and other accessories. Clothes with slits for wings could also be in fashion.
What would the magic school(s) be named? What would some of the classes be?
I like to use google translate to name things tbh, and I guess classes would be different depending on what kind of magic they have. They're probably taught how to control the magic, though.
Haha I do the same thing sometimes too, Robin. Are we sticking with elemental magic or adding other things to that? I feel like that would impact what things are named.
Also, there could maybe be some social prejudice against certain elements/magic. Like if there's anything associated with death or something, maybe those people are shunned?
I think some classes like:
- Flying Positions I
- Flying Positions II
- Magical Fighting (double blocked; core class)
- History of Magic I
- History of Magic II
- Elemental Training (double blocked; core class)
- Basic Fighting (first year; core class)
- Magical Control and Focus
- Sewing and Design (elective)
- Enchantments and Charms
- Hospitality and Wing Care (elective)
- Medicine, Herbs, and Natural Magic Care
would be cool, don't you?
We should make a list of what magics we want! I think there should be some mental stuff, too, as well as magic that's seen as smaller, like potion-making/brewing. What do you guys think?
Yeah, I think that's great ^^. Basic Magical Safety is probably important, but that can be mashed into other things. We could also have ordinary electives, like art or music.
