Paris sat in her large apartment making a fettuccine Alfredo, to eat alone. Her older brother was out for a week on vacation so she had nobody to cook for besides herself.
Rachel decided to go out and read in the woods today, her house was too chaotic and she couldn't focus on her reading. She grabbed a few books and took off on her cruiser bike.
Tobias strode out, pumping gas into his van, and later leaving. He got back to his motel, parked, and got out. He walked over towards his room, but stopped when he heard a sound in the desert woods nearby. He analyzed it from there.
Paris finished her food and made up a plate. She took the plate to the table along with silverwear and a soda she grabbed form the fridge. She left the stove on to keep the food warm but kept it on low and then dig into her food.
After 20 minutes of riding her bike, Rachel finally made it to her usual spot in the forest. But as she went to lean her bike down on a nearby tree she saw something human-like but extremely deformed further in the forest. It startled her and she dropped her bike causing her to trip herself. Quickly, she picked herself up an analyzed her surroundings.
Tobias saw a strange shape move in the trees. Humanlike but different. He approached, taking out his revolver, and checking it. This was his variety of weird.
Paris ate slowly, scrolling through insta gram and snap chatting people while she ate.
As Rachel scanned the woods, everything seemed fine until she noticed that the previous figure she saw was coming closer. Rachel decided it might be better to leave but as she turned she noticed another figure heading towards her from her only available escape route. She was cornered and realized she needed to think on her feet.
Another one! Tobias almost said outwardly, creeping closer. He entered the woods, using all of his senses to keep aware, and checking his 6-o'clock regularly. He saw a shape, definitely not human.
(Oof idk how to keep my character going at this point. I’ll just wait for a time skip or something? Unless one of y’all have an idea?)
(The large apartment you live at could be close to the woods and you could hear the ruckus and decide to check the situation out or something supernatural could lead you there?)
(That's what I'd suggest. Or one of the shapes could attack and send your character to meet ours.)
(Okay)
Paris heard odd noises outside and walked out on her balcony. She saw 3 shapes outside. 2 looked human shaped. The third not so much. She decided she’d stay and watch until she was needed.
Rachel looked towards her bike thinking that she could zoom past the less intimidating figure. She quietly picked up her bike and hopped on it. Her bike was moving but she knew she wasn't the one moving the bike. Her bike was accelerating in speed and even worse, it was moving towards one of the figures. Rachel didn't know what was happening but she did know that she had two options: stay on her bike like a dumbass or jump off and risk injuring herself. She decided to take the risk.
Tobias moved forward towards the deformed shape. It seemed to be focused elsewhere. He aimed at it shooting it twice.
It let out a piercing screech, and staggered into his view.
No doubt it was a demon.
It looked almost human enough, but with a mouth seemingly split almost from ear to ear, and lined with two rows of razored teeth, it's too-long limbs burdened by deformed bone. It tried to talk to him telepathically, he could feel that much, but it was too weak. He stood over it gun cocked, as it jerked about.
Paris climbed over her balcony railing and climbed down the trees to help the people. She ran to her back door, opened it and pulled out a bag of throwing knives. She threw the bag on her shoulder by the strap and jogged back to the chaos.
As Rachel began to push herself off of the bike, it stopped. Unfortunately, the bike was going so fast that she flew off of the bike as soon as it came to a stop. It's a good thing Rachel was able to do a roll while landing and deflect anything worse than a few cuts. When Rachel regained her bearings she looked up and saw one of the figures looming over her. She stood up and backed sideways into a tree.
The thing jerked around some more, until it finally died. It's last energies went into keeping it's kind a secret, as it molded back to a human frame it's mouth sealed up, and it's limbs returned to normal length and proper structure. Tobias noticed something, and went to check it out. It seemed to be a young girl, with curly brownish hair. She stood, gaining some distance.
"And who might you be?" Tobias said, gazing at her.
Paris stood from afar a knife in hand to protect herself
"Ra-" Rachel couldn't stop herself from blurting out the small fragment of her name. She took a deep breath and thought for a moment. The person talking to her seemed more curious than anything, in her opinion at least. But Rachel knew that it was better to keep her guard up. "Un-unimportant." She stuttered "Why are you in the woods? Do you have any idea what that phenomenon was?"
"I'm here doing what most would call my job, dealing with the supernatural, and that, was not human." Tobias said. He noticed someone else near them as soon as the person had appeared thanks to Grandmaster Finn's training.
Paris snapped her fingers and a harmless flame danced in her hand, but the others didn’t have to know it was harmless. And it could because hurtful if she wanted it to be.
“Who are you guys and why are you outside my apartment? And what was that thing?” She said stepping out for behind her tree, knife in one hand, flame in the other.
Tobias pointed his weapon in the direction of the newcomer, a young woman, with a small flame in one hand and a knife in the other.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." He said. She must have been a pyrokinetic, which meant that it could go either way.
"Unlike the heat I'm packing, yours doesn't break the sound barrier." He explained. He had a few shots left, but nothing too excessive.
"As for that thing, well, look at it, it doesn't look too human now, does it?" He said, seriously. He was right, it may have tried to revert back to human form, but sometching was still off about it.
“Mhmm, And you are? Never got a name. Or uh… something to call you” Paris said, making the flame grow larger and become harmful. Something told her she should be on guard at all times for the moment.
((What's I miss?))
