Azora dropped calmly on to the couch in fresh dry clothing. She could still feel the affect of having died on her body. Her limbs moved slow, mussels were stiff, and breathing was still shallow. She knew it was because at lest several million cells were killed or damaged by the process, her lungs were still recovering from salt water, and her body needed time to get over the rigor mortis that had started to set in.
"Oatmeal, you want some?" Fiona glanced at Parker and gave her a fake smile.
(omg I just realized I sounded like a caveman)
"If there's enough," Parker said, looking at Fiona. Something seemed slightly off. "Azora just died, right? Was that successful? And do you know where she is? I feel like I should take a look at her."
Fiona nodded towards the couch "She's on the couch and there will be enough oatmeal."
"Oh great. I would love some then." Parker smiled. "Thanks." She walked over to the couch where Azora was sitting, looking drained. "So I don't know how many times you've died before," she said, standing in front of her, "but I'd like to take a look at you and make sure everything is alright, if you don't mind."
Fiona nodded and started to scoop two bowels of oatmeal, quietly listening to Parker.
"This makes six," Azora answered, "I'm not sure what good it's going to do. Are you used to healing the symptoms of death."
"Um." Parker's eyes were a little wide and her lips formed a line. "I wouldn't say used to. But I think I could do decently, if that's alright with you."
"Ok so first, let me make sure your in the right mind set," Azora sitting up a little more, "In most cases when healing is used death is a symptom that you are trying to avoid by taking the correct precautions." Azora paused to make sure Parker was listening to her. "In this case death is not a symptom it is the cause and in most cases healers never have to deal with these kinds of symptoms because the person that has them is already dead and beyond help." She blinked a few times before covering her left eye and sighed, "If you have any questions I'll do my best to help, but you might have a hard time given my own magic specialization."
Parker had sat down on the couch next to her. "So, if I'm understanding this, I"m treating the symptoms or after effects of death, not whatever caused the death. Do I have that correct?"
"Yes, because the thing that caused death has already been fixed. This reversing the natural first steps of decomposition." Azora smiled, "Let's all be happy I did not try and pull a Lazarus."
"Yes, that would be . . . gross," Parker said. "How long would you say you were dead?" she asked.
"Dead is the right word and no longer than thirty minutes, but I was in Ice water witch kept my organs in good condition, but the cold helped my limbs lock up faster." Azora answered.
"So your body temperature must be almost dangerously low," Parker muttered, mostly to herself. "And your blood pressure and flow." She looked at Azora, a quizzical expression on her face. "And you drowned right? So there may still be water in your lungs."
"I read up on this on the Internet," MJ chimed in, perching on the table. "If you don't get it treated, your lungs will unknowingly fill up with fluid by themselves and you might drown."
"Oh, let's not have that happen," Parker said, turning from MJ to Azora. She started to stand up to walk over to the kitchen, slightly muttering to herself, before turning to Azora "Did you take a warm shower or anything after dying?"
(I'm not totally sure what specific life magic/witch magic stuff is possible so I'm just gonna do some healer stuff and if its op or way off base, just tell me)
"I warmed up my extremities, hands fingers and toes," Azora said, "But taking a hot shower after being dead well it's not the best idea.it's based less in since and more in magic, but everything on the other side of the vale has really no tactile substance and when you come back you have to reacclimatize to the… how do I say this… the frequency of this world." Azora kind of gestured not knowing how to explain the idea. "For the next hour or so I have to be carful about my tactile sensory in take."
(Healing magic in this case works by stimulating thing such as cell replication and enzyme production so a body can fix itself faster.)
