“What?” Zackary asked with an air of slight irritation and confusion. “I’m not kicking you out! I’m just suggesting you try and rest for a bit, since you have your work tomorrow!” He rose and a deep, unhappy croon played from his throat.
Avi threw back her head and laughed. "Hey. Why don't I treat you to some dinner Full-Blood? I'd think you could be interesting company." Her eyes gleamed with amusement. "Also, do you have somewheres to live?"
"That sounds amazing. And no, I'm what normal people consider a street rat. I live in whatever alley I can find." She chuckled, wiping blood from her cheek. "Don't mind the blood, it's my job."
Avi winked at her. "I deal in similar things." She turned and beckoned. "Come on. I've got another friend waiting. We should get you cleaned up."
"Yeah, that sounds like a smart idea." She laughed, tossing her dark blue hair over her shoulder and followed Avi. "Wait a second, what's your name?"
Avi shook her head. "I prefer not to give it out. You can call me whatever you like. May I ask what you like to be called?"
She thought for a minute, deciding. "Lillian. It's the easiest one to pronounce."
That sound.. It compelled her more than any pocket watch swinging before her face ever could. She turned back to him slowly, her head down. "I'm not going back to sleep…" She sighed. "Can we just talk? About anything I just-" She began to pick at her nails. "I just like the company…"
Avi nodded. "You're a full-blood demon right?"
Zackary shifted his shoulders back a bit. His crooning was getting out of hand.
“Right. Sit down. We can talk about whatever you want.”
"Well of course. Unless you want proof." She shrugged.
Juliet muttered a thank you and sat on the bed once more. She just sat there in silence, picking at her nails and mumbling to herself. "Well, now this feels forced and awkward." She muttered, coming up with nothing else to say.
Zackary couldn’t help but agree. He set his feet on the mattress and snuggled into his own warmth. He should’ve kept his wings out. They helped him warm up a lot.
"Well…um, what else do you like to eat?" She asked, plucking a random question from the skies above. "Besides ham…"
Zackary hummed and shrugged. “Dunno. Anything, really. What about you?” He glanced at her.
"Breakfast food!" she squealed with delight. "You can get me to rob a bank for you if you have a nice, big, hot plate of eggs, bacon, french toast, and pancakes for me. With a signature cup of cranberry juice." She stated specifically. "For future schemes, keep that in mind." She smiled.
Zackary smiled a bit. “I think I’ll just keep it in mind when I’m feeling particularly kind and in a cook-y mood.”
Deciding that everything would be okay in the few minutes that it would take the two to get back to the restaurant, Sariel picked up and left the sidewalk. Soon, she was back in the restaurant with the waiter she had spoken to sitting a plate with dim sum on it on the table.
"Aw, thank you for considering me…" She cooed, pretending to wipe tears from her eyes. "It means so much to me…"
Zackary chuckled and booped her nose. “You’re welcome. I will always consider you, since you are my contract-holder.”
((The fluff-o-meter is rising!!! ^u^))
Juliet laughed with closed eyes, just like Qhuinn as she pushed his finger away. "That's right… I completely forgot." She shrugged, shoulders still shaking with laughter.
(yAAAAAAS YAAAAS)
Zackary laughed with her, holding back a happy croon. His emotions were all over the place already, and it was three hours in the day.
"As you're contract-holder… what does that mean for me anyway? Can I send you on ice cream errands?" She asked with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes.
Zackary chuckled gently and shook his head. “No, but I do have to do what you tell me. I’ll just have to check in with you a lot to make sure you are safe.”
Juliet thought of him, popping up at her job to check on her, or walking with her to the store. "I'd like that a lot…." She said, smiling down at her knees.
