(Nooo! Okay… Bye.)

"Thanks," Kenzie said.

Taking another deep breath, she stepped out of the car and walked to the apartment. After climbing a few flights of stairs and walking down the third-floor hallway, she stopped in front of a door, which was numbered "312". Dispelling the doubts from her mind once again, Kenzie reached a hand up and knocked.

A deep voice came from inside, muffled by the door, "Hold on a moment. I'll be right there."

Some soft sounds made their way past the door, and a loud thump was followed by a curse. Kenzie flinched, remembering her dad's clumsiness. After a few seconds, the door opened, revealing a shorter, blond man around 40. His eyes widened as he took in the young woman at his door, who gave him a wobbly smile.

"M-McKenzie?" he stuttered, his eyes filling with tears.

"Hi, Daddy," she greeted him quietly.

(Yes, Kenzie still calls her parents "Mama" and "Daddy." It's a habit she couldn't get over.) ;P

(it's okay xD I call my mom 'mama', too
sorry for the very late reply)

(Meh, it's fine. I call my parents "Momi" and "Popi" perks of being half Latina is knowing way more than one way of saying Mom and Dad)

While Hunter was waiting for Kenzie, his phone rang. At first, he chose to ignore it, but when it rang two more times, he swiped it up and angrily pressed the answer button.
"What?" he snarled, not bothering to control his anger. "The hell do you want?"
He paused for a moment to listen before a growl erupted from his throat.
"To hell with your bloody threats. We had a deal. You keep your end of your damn bargain," without waiting for a response, Hunter ended the call. Why won't he leave him alone? They had a deal. Why keep calling him? And he was having a pretty good day, too. Leave it to his sorry excuse of a father to ruin everything.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

(Lol, you guys. Sorry, my fam and I left for a while.
And, what's goin' on w/Hunter and his dad?!?)

Still-strong arms engulfed Kenzie in a tight embrace. She wrapped her arms around her father, hugging him back. A sob escaped from between her lips, and she started to babble about how sorry she was that she hadn't tried to find him sooner. Kenzie's father, though crying himself, comforted her, telling her that it was okay and even going so far as to make his own apologies for not trying to see her.

Pulling back, Kenzie's father looked her over, smiling. "I always knew you would grow up to be a beautiful young woman," he declared. Suddenly, an odd look came over his face, and he reached a hand up to her hair. "Your hair…"

"Do– do you not like it?" Kenzie asked worriedly, reaching her own hand up to self-consciously touch her hair.

"No! No, it's beautiful. I just… It's different, is all," he admitted, putting his hand down. "So… How did you find me?"

Kenzie froze. "Uh… I, um, asked Mama…"

Her father's eyes widened. "And she actually told you? I didn't think she wanted you to see me…" he trailed off, looking thoughtful.

"Well, I'm eighteen, so she can't exactly dictate who I see, now," she stated with a shrug. "Actually, I wasn't even going to call her and ask, but a friend convinced me to do it."

"Oh? Well, thank your friend for me," he said with a smile.

Kenzie smiled back brightly. "Actually… You can meet him yourself if you'd like," she told him, quickly glancing down at her phone. Looking back up she saw that her father had a strange look on his face. "What? Is something wrong?"

He opened and closed his mouth a couple of times before finally managing to get out, "He? It's a boy friend?"

Shoot. Way to go, Kenzie, you've made him upset now, she cursed herself. "Yea–yeah…"

(I’M HERE!
Also, @SorceressWriter, Hunter’s going through the same problem with his dad.)

Hunter patiently waited for Kenzie, but as minutes ticked by, he started to get worried. What if her father was actually an asshole? What if she was hurt? He should’ve really gone with her!
Stop thinking, dimwit, a mocking voice echoed in his head. Kenzie’s strong enough to handle herself.

(Why are Wednesday's so slow in the rps? Basically no one is on right now)

(I guess it’s cuz Wednesday’s are busy days?)

@Imperfect_Autumn group

(blinks What problem, exactly?)

Kenzie's father rubbed his face with his hands. "Okay. Okay, that's… That's good. That's great. There's nothing wrong with my adult daughter having a friend who is a boy," he muttered, more to himself than to Kenzie. He looked at her again, a much calmer expression on his face now. "Is he coming up here, then, or what?"

"Ah… I didn't actually ask him to, so…" she trailed off, then sent Hunter a quick text.

KENZIE: Hey, I think my dad wants to meet you. Wanna come up here?

"Okay, I texted him. He should be here any minute, now," she told her father, who simply nodded his head in response.

Hunter stared blankly at the text for a minute or two before shaking his head.
Come on, Hunt. You got this, he said to himself before he started walking up to meet Kenzie father.
When he saw their figures, he felt himself get a little uncomfortable, but he forced himself to pull up a smile.
