“That was amazing,” Hunter commented as they walked out of the cinema, his eyes shining. Behind him, Leo snickered.
“Anything related to Marvel is amazing to you, Hunt,” he joked, elbowing Hunter in the side. “So, what now?”
“I know a really good restaurant here,” Hunter started, stuffing his hands in his pocket. “If you’re hungry, we can go. I’ll pay for Kenz’s and Willow’s meal.”
“What about me?” Leo whined. “I’m your best friend!”
“Which is why you’ll be paying for your own meal,” Hunter smiled darkly at Leo, making the blond sniffle.
“See how your boyfriend treats me, Kenzie?” Leo turned to Kenzie and pulled up the best teary-eyed face he could muster. “Isn’t he cruel?”

Kenzie spluttered. "Wha–What? Um, we're not… I mean… We haven't…" she trailed off, then looked to Hunter, her eyes pleading for help.
Hunter shrugged, clearly amused by Kenzie's reaction.
"We're not what, Kenz?" he asked, his voice teasing. "We've kissed countless times. Doesn't that make us something?"
Kenzie's eyes widened and a deep blush formed on her cheeks.
"You've what now?!?" Willow exclaimed. "McKenzie Hope Rhodes, as your best friend, I'd think you'd tell me something like this!"
"It was three," Kenzie whispered, looking at the floor. "And, I mean, you never actually asked me, so I just figured…" she shrugged, unwilling to finish her sentence.

Leo whistled and gave Hunter a thumbs up, which the latter ignored. Hunter was too busy grinning at Kenzie.
"If our friends weren't here," Hunter started, looking serious. "Then the number would have been four. Or five. It depends."

Hunter decided he had enough fun today. Kenzie looked just about ready to burst from embarrassment.
"Let's go eat," he laughed, ruffling Kenzie's hair.

"Agh!" Kenzie shouted, reaching up to fix her hair. She shot Hunter a look of feigned offense, then playfully exclaimed, "Do you know how long it took me to do this? It was, like, an hour! Curling my hair takes forever."
Hunter grinned cheekily.
"My bad," he pulled at her cheeks, watching in amusement as she slapped his hands away and rubbed her cheeks.
"Guys," Leo rolled his eyes. "We're here. Stop flirting. You'll make me lose my appetite."
Hunter grunted and stepped back from Kenzie, only to stomp on Leo's foot.
"Just because you're single doesn't mean you can stop me from having fun."
Willow muttered something about being a third wheel, but she shut up when Kenzie shot her a fierce look.
"C'mon, let's eat," Kenzie said, bouncing in anticipation. "I'm starving!"
"What would you like?" the waiter asked, making all four of them quiet down. Leo opened his mouth, but Hunter cut him off.
"We'd like a BBQ pizza, garlic bread for four, spaghetti and steak," he started, listing his favorites from Italian Oven. "For dessert, we'd like a chocolate cake and a strawberry cake, and you can ask the ladies for what they want. As for drinks, two cokes and…" he looked at Kenzie and Willow expectantly.
(I don't know if you've heard of it, but it used to be my favorite place back in my country. The BBQ pizza there was amazing!)

"Lemonade, please," Kenzie ordered politely.
"I'll just get a water," Willow said.

"Lemonade and water for the ladies," Hunter repeated with a polite smile on his face. "What about dessert?"

Kenzie shrugged. "What you ordered sounds great! Especially the strawberry cake."

“Make that three strawberry cakes and one chocolate,” Hunter said, then leaned back and waited for their food. “I swear, their garlic bread is worth dying for.”
