Willow squealed before grabbing her friend and pulling her away from Hunter, only to wrap her arms around her in a tight embrace.
"Hey…Willow…I can't…breathe…" Kenzie wheezed with a smile still on her face, trying to get Willow to loosen her grip.
"I can't believe you're engaged!" Willow exclaimed, finally letting her go.
"Yeah, well, I can hardly believe it, either," Kenzie admitted as she took up her position by Hunter once again. "And… We haven't really talked much about it, Leo…"
(I’ve got to go, so I can’t reply right now, but I’ll do it tomorrow. Goodnight!!)
(I’ve got to go, so I can’t reply right now, but I’ll do it tomorrow. Goodnight!!)
(Ah, okay! I should really go to sleep, anyway. Night!
I've gotta work tomorrow, so I won't be online from 7:30 AM to about 3:30 maybe 4:00 PM.)
“My student is growing up,” Leo faked a year. “He has exceeded his teacher. I have been left behind.”
“You still have Willow,” Hunter pointed out. “So yeah.”
(I don't know how to respond!!! Ugh…)
(Callie if you haven't caught up on the Marine RP you need to rn!!)
“My student is growing up,” Leo faked a year. “He has exceeded his teacher. I have been left behind.”
“You still have Willow,” Hunter pointed out. “So yeah.”
"Show me. Now," Willow demanded, holding her hand out. Kenzie shook her head with a smile, knowing what she meant. She dangled her left hand in front of her friend's face, wiggling her fingers teasingly. Willow grabbed her hand and inspected the ring. "Oh. My. Gosh. That is beautiful! Hunter, who knew you had such good taste in jewelry?"
Hunter smirked smugly.
“I have amazing tastes, I know,” he boasted. “I wanted the perfect one for my fiancée.”
Kenzie blushed, though she was smiling. She leaned into Hunter's side again, forgetting that he didn't have a shirt on and that her shoulders were exposed. Feeling his skin warm against hers, her blush deepened slightly, but she stayed where she was.
"Well, it certainly fits her," Willow stated, dropping Kenzie's hand finally. She saw her friend blushing at the contact between her and her fiancé and smiled. It was quite amusing to watch them together.
Hunter fought hard to contain the blush that threatened to coat his cheeks at the contact Kenzie’s skin made with his. The only part of them that touched without clothing were their hands, so it flustered Hunter a little. In the end, though, he managed to conceal it.
“He didn’t even tell me he was thinking of proposing,” Leo pretended to be disappointed.
Hunter scoffed. “But Huntzie is my OTP so I’ll forgive you.”
Hunter raised an eyebrow before sighing and draping an arm over Kenzie’s shoulders, resting his head on hers. Leo observed the exchange with a fond look in his eyes, happy for Hunter.
I’m glad you found Kenzie, he thought, smiling.
(Their hands and lips. Lol.
And Hunter's lips to Kenzie's neck. XD)
Kenzie reached over to grab Hunter's hand that had been draped over her shoulder with her opposite hand. She was trying to fight her blush, but she hadn't made much progress so far.
"Well, as much as I'm loving this and am super excited for you guys, I came here prepared to go swimming. So. Are we gonna do that or what?" Willow wondered, her hands on her hips.
(Yes, how could I forget? XD)
Leo immediately sighed.
“Do we have to?” He complained. “Can’t we just go somewhere else?”
Willow cocked an eyebrow at her boyfriend. "Is there something you're not telling me?" she questioned. "Do you not like swimming?"
Leo looked away, embarrassed. He fiddled with his fingers.
“I’m afraid of swimming,” he finally replied, looking anywhere other than Willow. “I know how to swim. I’m just afraid.”
(Excuse my intermittent responses. I'm out with my family.)
Willow sighed and stepped closer so that she could wrap her arms around Leo. "Hey, that's okay. I understand. If you don't want to swim, you don't have to. I'd be glad to just sit with you."
Leo looked flustered at the contact, but then looked a little offended.
“What? No! I’ll just bask in the sun while you play with the water.” He narrowed his eyes. “I don’t want you to not have fun.”
"I'll have fun, anyway!" Willow argued, frowning up at him but not moving from her embrace. "Seriously, I just want to spend time with you, and if that means not getting into the water, then that's fine with me."
Kenzie glanced over at Hunter, concern written on her face. "Maybe we should leave them to figure this out on their own?"
Leo frowned, looking conflicted.
“I knew I should’ve kept my mouth shut about this,” he sighed to himself before turning back to Willow. “Look, out of the four of us, you were the most excited to go swimming. Just because I’m afraid to doesn’t mean you have to sit back with me. Swim. Go have fun. I’ll watch you, and I’ll be having fun doing that. And by that, I mean the innocent way.”
Hunter shrugged.
“We’ll see if Willow stays with Leo or not. If she chooses to swim, we’ll go with her.”
(I’ve been trying to sleep early these days, so I’ll head off to bed now. Goodnight!)
(I just made the best pun using a name ever…)
Willow pulled back and crossed her arms. "Did you not hear me say that I just want to spend time with you? That I'll even sit out to do so? Honestly, Leo. I was mostly excited because I thought that I would be swimming with you."
(Ah, okay!)
"All right," Kenzie agreed, looking back to her friend, concern written across her face.
Leo rubbed the back of his head, biting the inside of his mouth.
“Okay, here’s what we can do,” he finally replied. “You can swim for a while, have fun, try out that tube thing. Then you can sit with me and we’ll talk and stuff.”
(Woah… We just posted at the exact same time…)
"Fine," Willow sighed. "Whatever. I'll just have to watch the lovebirds making out while I float down the lazy river on my own."
Kenzie cringed. She knew she had been sort of ignoring her friend, lately; she'd been ignoring pretty much everyone lately, actually. She'd have to think of a way to make it up to her…
(I noticed! Also, I’m gonna be very busy around this week, so replies will be late.)
Leo sighed. Why did he have to be scared? He didn’t want to leave Willow on her own as a third wheel.
“Why don’t you help me get over my fear, then?” The words came out of Leo’s mouth before he could think straight.
(Ah, okay.)
Willow's eyebrows shot up. "Really? How?" she asked, curious and definitely willing.
