"I said: a few things." Eli responded
Alice made a face. "How about specifically?"
Eli shrugged. "Dunno. There's not much time to do extra stuff here. I guess I like talking."
"Yeah, I've noticed. What was your job in the circus?"
"Baton twirling. You know, with fire and stuff."
Ana crossed her arms at Haile. "Tell us." She gestured to the bullet wound again.
Alice nodded. "Very cool." She exhaled. "You two are getting kind of dull. I think I'll take my leave," she sighed and turned to walk away.
"Now, hold on! You never told us anything about you!" Eli walked after her, desperate to keep her distracted and to gain information.
Haile shook his head. "I really don't know that much. She's young, she's mad, she's on the run, she's a killer."
Alice gave him a side smile. "What is it you'd like to know?" she asked smoothly.
Ana exhaled, looking around at the group. "I….I guess he really doesn't know anything about her…"
Haile exhaled audibly. He'd managed to trick them.
Eli shrugged, trying to seem casual. "I dunno. Do you have any hobbies?" He asked, staring out simple.
"I used to play piano. And sing. And I love a good chess match," Alice recalled slowly.
Ana exhaled, looking around at the group. "I….I guess he really doesn't know anything about her…"
Leo sighed and let the tension in his shoulder fade. He looked past Ana's shoulder and noticed Haile's smug expression. "Or he's an experienced liar." He strode up to Haile, knelt by him, took the gun from Ana and shot him in the foot.
"Sounds like you were quite the artistic person." Eli pointed out
Ana flinched at the noise, but walked up to Leo and Haile after the shock had subsided.
Alice sighed wistfully. "I was. But I got zero privileges in prison so that went away."
Leo smiled coldly at Haile. "One more time. What do you know about Alice?"
Haile groaned. "She wasn't always mad and evil and whatever you want to call her.
"So now that you're out, why don't you go back to your old ways? It'll be an awesome redemption story." Eli told her dramatically.
Ana nodded. "Keep going."
Alice laughed out loud. "I'm still on the run, honey."
"She was part of the Circus once."
Eli shrugged. "Well I mean, afterwards. And I'm sure if you ask they'll let you play chess in prison."
Ana let out a small gasp. "Really? Was she there voluntarily?"
She considered. "Not sure. I once rammed a bishop into a guard's eye," she said nonchalantly.
Haile shook his head slowly. "No."
Eli shook his head disappointingly. "If you want fun, you have to behave."
Ana nodded once more. "What did she do? Was the circus like it is now when she was there?"
Alice smiled cheekily. "Misbehaving is half the fun, thought."
"She was sent here because she was talented is all. And it was worse when she was here."
Eli sighed. "You're a hopeless case."
"Worse?" Ana couldn't believe that it was possible. "What role did she have in the circus?"
She shrugged proudly. "What can I say? I have a rebellious soul."
"Singing and dancing. She was incredible," he remembered.
