Luke pulled on Tamtrns arm " Lets go"
Lanaai sagged against the wall, doing her best to concoct a plan when Tamryn stood up and left the cell. The pink haired boy had opened it.
"Thank you!" Tamryn called, letting himself be hefted up. He turned to Lanaai, gesturing for her to follow. When they walked out of the cell, Tamryn realized that Luck hadn't seemed to pick the lock. He was totally confused. "How did you get out?"
Luke smiled as he pulled him along " COME ON!"
Tamryn ground his heels into the ground, stopping them from moving. Lanaai groaned. "Can't we let them out of their cell?" Tamryn asked with a pout, gesturing backward at lockpick girl and her friend who was a boy.
Luke smiled " The cells will open for lunch in a minute." Luke explained
Tamryn nodded, feeling kind of dumb. The guards wouldn't come down for five or six minutes, giving them plenty of time to escape.
"Let's go," Lanaai hissed, grabbing Tamryn and Luke by their forearms and dragging them into the hall. "You come too," She ordered the girl with the lockpicks and the boy who seemed to be her friend. "We need to leave. Now."
"Okay, got it. Anyways, I'm Romana, this is Clem. They're my best friend, partner in crime, and tolerant of most bullcrap." Romana introduced herself and Clem, picking the lock.
Lanaai let her inner self growl and rage. She got that introductions were important, but they were also in a pretty time sensitive situation. "Great." She ushered everyone through the single hall, hoping there wouldn't be too many guards on patrol.
Tamryn was taking everything far less seriously. "I'm Tamryn, this is Lanaai. It's nice to meet y'all!" He whispered. "How did you get thrown in prison? We were hunting monsters without permits."
Luke smiled" Were escaping?!" Luke was shocked they just got there and were already trying to escape
Luke thought ahead " There are 2 guards down the next hallway he said using his powers."
"Clem and I activated a portal. They're a little upset with me, but who cares am I right?" Romana asked.
Luke formed a bow in his hands. " Lets do this!"
Lanaai nodded. "Who can fight? I can take a guard or two down," She said, appraising the group. Tamryn was strong, he could easily overpower the guard, but it was always good to have a backup. Or three. She pulled Ki to her fingertips, letting the warm magic pool in her hands.
"A portal? That's some powerful magic!" Tamryn exclaimed, only to be shushed by Lanaai. He raised his hand in response to Lanaai's question, wondering if anyone else could fight. They seemed a bit thin, not the best prepared for this rough and tumble town.
"Hey, Ro, listen. How can we trust these people?" Clem asked, crossing their arms. "First of all, don't call me that, second, we don't have a better option." she said.
Luke formed3 swords and handed them out " Hope you can fight" He said to all of them
"Yeah, we can fight alright. Clem's the best, they won the interstate championship fencing match quite a while back." Romana boasted.
Luke pulled his bow back, " If you ever need a weopon just say something i can give it to you" Luke exclaimed
Tamryn smiled, joy filling his features when he was handed a sword. It was beautifully made, and he could do some real damage with it. Hopefully, he wouldn't have to though, he always felt terrible when he had to kill. "Thank you! And don't worry Clem we're plenty trustworthy!"
Lanaai made no move for a sword. "And as Ramona said, it's either us or death," She added, skulking towards the hall the guards were supposedly standing in. She didn't really trust Luke yet. Luckily, there were two soldiers there. She quickly disabled one, knocking him out with a flurry of punches and a kick to the head. Tam finished the other one by slamming the hilt of his sword into the unlucky man's head
"So are we gonna get out of here or not?!" Luke snapped
"Yeah, see? I'm right sometimes! Most of the time!" they said. "Yes, yes, I get it. Now shut up." Romana said.
"Less talking," Lanaai chided, carefully wandering through the halls. They'd only been out of their cells for a minute or two, so the lunch rush would begin soon. They had to get out before that or they'd be easily rounded up and recaptured.
Tamryn didn't heed her words, turning around to talk to the group "Let's get to know each other! How old are you? I'm 21, I think."
Luke smiled "A hot 21 year old" LUke smiled more "I think im 23"
"In our twenties, yeah." Romana said.
Tamryn blushed, ducking his head. Ok, maybe Luke was flirting. He could do flirting. He opened his mouth to speak only to realize that his mind was blank. Ok, maybe he couldn't do flirting. Great. Amazing. Instead of doing anything that might land him a boyfriend, he asked "Where're y'all from?"
Lanaai rolled her eyes as if sensing his inner conflict. "Luke, how many guards in the building?" Her voice was tinged with annoyance because it seemed like she was the only one getting what was going on. Or maybe her paranoia was cropping up again. Whatever. All she knew was that they had to get out of there. Fast.
Luke thought "13 plus 12" Luke thoight " 25 in total 12 on the right half of the building and 13 on the other. Not counting the ones on break or in the control room"
