Riverpaw sat up, going over to grab two water bottles, then went back over to Meun and handed him one.
Meun thanked her softly before taking the water bottle, his hands shaking ever so slightly still. He carefully took off the cap before downing a few gulps of water
(August, dying in the background while everyone hydrates: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH)
(lolll)
(River: yeet throws a water bottle at his face)
Riverpaw sat back down, opening her water and looking over at Aspen again.
(August, chucking the bottle out the window: No self-respecting, mildly-depressed gen z kid would ever be caught DEAD properly hydrated)
(the accuracy, it hurts)
(oh hecc my dude)
(Hey)
(Howdy)
(Rigel has been waiting to get in since September 7th lol)
(XD)
(oh jeez, I keep forgetting about this rp)
(@StarkSpangledBanner just hasn't really responded yet. We can probably have August and Rigel go up to the room together after some angsty conversation if you guys still want to keep this going)
(cool)
(Yeh, maybe August sees Rigel in the lobby?)
(Oof sorry for not responding. Some personal stuff is going on right now and I've been on and off notebook and this kind of got buried)
August walked into the lobby, running a hand through his hair. He picked up a pen from the receptionist's desk without saying anything, just so he had something in his hands. That was when he saw Rigel. "What the actual hell did you do?!" He growled. "Why is Aspen in a coma? Why didn't you ride with her to the hospital?"
(Ur good, hope things get better)
Rigel nearly jumped back, he hadn’t even realized August was there. He glared at him, skipping over peace talk, “Why is it suddenly my fault? Why should I know? I have more important things to do than ride in a f—ken ambulance!” Rigel snarled back, not particularly worrying about making a scene. But for a moment, he was back in that room with Kate. His blood started pounding, and he reached for the knife that wasn’t there -thank gosh he left it with his bike- as his other hand clenched into a fist.
August glared right back. He grabbed Rigel's wrist and dragged the other over to the staircase, ignoring his clenched fist. "Don't you dare try and use whatever bull you've convinced everyone else with on me. I know you Rigel, whether you like it or not. So I'm going to ask you again, and this time I expect an answer and not your petty deflection. What happened to Aspen? And why didn't you come with her?"
Rigel planted his feet and jerked his wrist out of August’s hand and bit out, “She fell off her bike, alright? That’s not my fault, so stop acting like it is.” My fault. Gosh it’s all my fault. He turned on his heel, muttering as he clamped up, “I don’t even know why I came here in the f—ken first place.” Rigel didn’t want to see another unconscious body, he couldn’t see that.
August reached forward and grabbed his shoulder. "Rigel," he said sternly. He sighed, running his other hand through his hair. "I'm sorry, alright? We're all stressed right now. Do you want me to show you where her room is? The others are all there."
No. Yes. Maybe. “I-“ Rigel stared at the staircase for a few heartbeats, before finally asking quietly, “Where is she, then?” He needed a smoke, he needed one so darn badly. Rigel felt like he was betraying everyone at once, by going to Aspen over Kate’s body, but not being able to stand in the hospital for more than a few minutes before shouting. Gosh he hated himself.
"I'll show you. Come on." He pushed open the stairway door and started to walk up to Aspen's room. "She's going to be okay," he said quietly, more to himself than to Rigel. "She has to be."
Rigel’s mind ticked like a bomb the entire way there as he followed August. He kept on seeing Aspen lying dead in his arms. Memories kept blurring together, it was as if he was living the same story over again. He needed to keep reminding himself she was just in a coma. Rigel knew they were probably angry at him, they had every right to be. Rigel let her die- no, she wasn’t dead yet. Aspen wasn’t dead yet.
