"Hey guys I am probably going to get going. I have to go to work." Colden said trying to tell everyone.
"Hey guys I am probably going to get going. I have to go to work." Colden said trying to tell everyone.
“Where do we go first?” She asked backing out
“Gas station, I’ll buy a tank then we can head to my bike,” Rigel replied, tapping his fingers on his knee. So much to do today… Rigel pulled out a cig and lit it, despite them about to get going. Just something to calm me down…
Aspen sighed and sped to the gas station
Rigel hopped off the bike before it came to a complete stop, jogging into the store and coming out moments later with a tank of gas in his hand. He stuck his cigarette back in his mouth as he slid on the bike, slightly more uncomfortable with the container of gas between them.
“You’re an ass.” She said plainly trying to remember where his bike was
“It’s not my fault I’ll be busy today,” Rigel replied, only realizing a moment later how much of it was his fault. The feeling a guilt hit him like a train, that feeling he’d pushed down so long ago. It’s all my fault. Rigel tensed and looked away, sucking hard on his cig as if that would rewrite what happened.
She sighed “you’re an ass cuz you hate feelings.” She smirked “where’d you lose your damned bike?”
“Cherry Blossom Road,” Rigel said with an edge to his voice, ignoring what else Aspen had said. Because she didn’t know, because no one knew. If his gang found out about it- gosh he couldn’t let that happen. He needed a drink, his needed to get high, he just needed something.
She stopped her bike and got of, not waiting to see if he got iff
(Did she drive him there or are they still at the gas station?)
(She drove him there)
Rigel slipped off the bike, forcing his breathing to be steady and calm, and lifted up his bike. Thankfully no one stole it. Rigel had been stupid last night to just leave it, but fortunately this road was out of the way. He heaved it upright and dropped the stand, flipping open his tank and pouring the gas in. It had been expensive, but worth it. Once he poured it all, he dropped the empty container with all the other litter, then started fingering his pockets for his keys.
“Looking for these?” Aspen asked twirling a cluster of keys on her finger
“Give them here,” Rigel demanded, tapping his foot. He needed to get going early, he would have a long day.
“Why?” She asked, still smirkig
“I need to get going, it isn’t funny Aspen,” Rigel frowned. Little jokes would certainly not help him today. He sucked on his cigarette as he said, “I got important things to do today.”
“Explain.” She glared
“You want me to tell you what I’m doing today?” Rigel said with a pointed look. He would most certainly not explain what he’d be doing today. It was too personal, too much into his past to tell her.
“You call me late at night, drunk and high, I pick you up. Then today, you need a ride and I give it to you. I’m not your freaking slave Rigel. Either you tell me what’s going on or I don’t give your keys.” She glared
“First of all, I wasn’t drunk, just high,” Rigel said through gritted teeth, “Second of all, you didn’t have to give me a ride, that doesn’t make you a slave. Third, those are my property so just hand them over, Aspen.” Rigel shot glares like daggers at her. If she wanted the whole story, she’d get it if she wanted it so badly. But then she’d think differently of him, but that was her fault for snooping.
“Technically you called me to pick you up. Knowing you, it was expected that if I didn’t come, you’d probably get yourself killed.” She said monotonous
“And why does it matter if I’m dead or not?” The words slipped out so easily Rigel was kind of shocked how much he believed them. Because the world could care less if he was dead or not, it just be one less murderer out there.
“Because, you idiot, wether you like it or not, I care. Everyone else cares.” She snapped “if you die, everyone else will be in a dark place. That’ll fill the empty place in their souls with your dark humour.”
Rigel his eyes just to ignore what she said, “Well I have to get going, so if you would please give me my keys, I’ll try harder to take care of myself.” Rigel waved a hand flippantly in the air to relax himself.
“Where.”
“All over town. And out of town towards the end of the day,” It wasn’t a lie, but it was a nicer way to put it than what it actually was, “Now, don’t be a mother hen and follow me all day, hand over my keys,” Rigel held out his hand, waiting.
