Meun sat down next to him, still sniffling and crying softly. He buried his face in the front of August's shirt, not wanting him to have to see him as he cried
Tsunami ran up to Liz, barking and jumping at her legs, while Riverpaw set her bags down for a moment so she could take her helmet off.
August gave Meun a fond look. He pulled away so he could see his face. "Nothing's going to hurt you anymore." He muttered, reaching up. He cupped Meun's face with his hand and brushed some of the tears away with his thumb. "I have you."
Meun sniffled, his breath catching as he continued to sob. "I'm s-sorry you have to see me like this," he choked out, though he found himself torn between moving closer or farther away from August
August continued to brush the tears away with his thumb. "I'm always going to be here for you, no matter what. I don't care what happens, okay? I'll be here." He said, giving a small smile. "Besides, you still look cute, even when you're crying into my shirt, so you don't need to worry about that."
Meun laughed a little at that, the noise still sounding sad. "I'm so ugly when I cry," he eventually managed. "And I would know, I cry all the time."
"Well I beg to differ." August said, his face soft, fond. "I think you look just as pretty as you always do."
"I'm not pretty," Meun sobbed. "I'm disposable," he managed before breaking down again
August pulled Meun closer, his arms wrapping around him once more. "Don't you ever say that again, okay? Because you're one of the most amazing people I know. You're unique, and kind, and funny, and cute. I don't think I could've made it through what you did. You've been so, so, strong, and it's okay if you let others be strong for you for a while. You are not replaceable or disposable, and anyone who told you that you are was just lying."
Tsunami ran up to Liz, barking and jumping at her legs, while Riverpaw set her bags down for a moment so she could take her helmet off.
(Sorry! Was putting kids to bed.)
Liz laughed and bent down to pet the dog, and Belle went to help Riverpaw with her things.
"So, Liz, have you started setting up for the party tonight?" Belle asked, giving her roommate a knowing look. The woman's eyes widened, and she let out a soft curse under her breath. Belle laughed. "I'll take that as a 'no.'"
Colden who was invited to the party, texted belle for details on the time it would be starting at.
Belle's phone chimed, and she pulled it out of her pocket. It was Colden, asking for party details, and she texted him back.
BELLE: It starts at ten tonight.
COLDEN: Ok thanks
He sent the text and looked at the time.
Shoving her phone back in her pocket, Belle looked over at Riverpaw.
"Need any help with your stuff?" she asked.
Riverpaw picked up the bags and headed to the bathroom, where she kept one of her medkits. "N-no, I've got it. Thanks though."
Aspen came back to her apartment and parked her bike
"If you say so," Belle said with a shrug. She turned to Liz and smirked. "So. Party decor?"
Liz groaned and put her head in her hands. "Yeah, yeah. I've still got a couple of hours to set up. I've got everything, and there's food and ingredients for punch in the fridge, I've just got to⦠Put it all out."
Belle laughed and shook her head. "I don't understand how you can throw so many parties and never start setting them up earlier than you do."
"What can I say? I'm a party-decorating genius!" Liz exclaimed.
"She is!" Riverpaw called from the bathroom.
Belle and Liz laughed at hearing Riv call from the bathroom.
"You see? Even Riverpaw knows it!" Liz exclaimed between laughs.
"Yeah, I know." Belle shook her head, her laughs dying down.
Colden texed belle again
COLDEN: hey,can i come a little early. I can help set up if you want.
Belle's phone chimed again, and she pulled it out to see another text from Colden.
"Hey, Liz. Col is asking if he can come early. He said he could help set up," she called to her friend, who was grabbing supplies from her room.
"Yeah, sure! The more help, the better, right?" Liz called back, coming out not long after with at least ten rolls of different colored streamers in her arms.
With a nod, Belle replied to the text.
BELLE: Liz said that's okay. You know the address, right?
COLDEN: Yeah, i know it. i'll be over soon.
he replied and then left his apartment to get there.
