Tsunami growled at Rigel, and Riverpaw pulled her onto her lap, petting her gently. "I-isn't that stuff bad for you?"

"Can be, but some of us have a death wish" she replied, looking over at her and smiling lightly, biting her lip

"…That's dumb." She turned to Meun with the sternest face she could muster. "Don't do that."

"Still poison," Belle muttered under her breath. It wasn't like they would listen, they were already into it. She, on the other hand, knew what it was like to grow up with a parent who got drunk and high whenever he could. At least he was gone, now. She didn't have to see him anymore.

Riverpaw looked up at Jayme with a confused expression, but decided to stop questioning things for the time being.

Meun huffed a bit. “I only self medicate with alcohol and weed because I can’t afford proper medication. You try buying prescription meds when you’re homeless.”

"Get a job, then, Meun. I'm sure Vince would hire you," Belle said, nodding in the direction of the owner, who was standing behind the counter.

"I guess I'm lucky then" she hummed. She took in the smoke and held it in for a few seconds before blowing it out in perfect circles

“Nope, although one time the po-pos found one of my stashes, but that was when I was, what? Eighteen maybe?” Rigel shrugged again, “That comtibuted to the jail time,” He continued fondly.
(Also I’m changing it from eight years to like four-ish because I just realized his backstory doesn’t add up lol)

Riverpaw held Tsunami back when the pup yipped and pawed at the smoke.

"Let's… talk about something else for a bit, yeah?" Belle suggested, glancing at Riverpaw out of the corner of her eye. She wondered if it was making the girl uncomfortable.

"Yeah, what collage are you planning on going to River?" she asked, bloing out the smoke away from River
