(Oof, sorry… I think I keep doing that because the K and the L are right next to each other on the keyboard… I have no other explanation…)
“Well, then, please keep us alive,” Kasey chuckled. “I’d like to live past my early twenties, thank you.”
(Don't worry, it's fine :)
"Kasey, you're not gonna die. I am-" Liam cut himself off, "You don't have to worry."
Frick… His brother died in an accident while he was driving… You are an absolute idiot…
Kasey’s cheeks turned bright red as she came to this sudden realization, and she looked down at her lap. “Liam, I’m sorry… I didn’t mean… Sorry…” she murmured.
Liam looked over with a soft expression, "Hey, it's fine. You don't have to be sorry." He placed one hand on her thigh for a moment before turning back to the road and removing it.
Kasey glanced back up at him and gently took his hand in hers, giving it a light squeeze. “You are a good driver, by the way.”
Liam opened his mouth to replied then closed it for a few moments, squeezing her hand back, “Thanks.”
“Any time,” Kasey said softly before bringing his hand to her lips and giving it a light kiss.
Liam smiled softly and turned his attention back to the road. He knew Kasey didn’t mean to make him feel upset but it was hard to block out the memories.
Kasey let their hands drop and turned her attention back to looking out the window. The accident had slipped her mind, but she wouldn’t have brought it up if she had remembered.
Liam swallowed, releasing a long breath. They drove the rest of the way in silence and eventually, Liam pulled the car into a parking lot beside a restaurant called Fudd’s.
“It looks nice,” Kasey said as they pulled up, turning to give Liam a small smile.
Liam nodded, “Food is good too.” He stepped out the car.
“I’d hope so,” Kasey chuckled. “I would think you wouldn’t want to bring me somewhere with bad food.”
“You got that right.” Liam stretched and locked the car when Kasey was out.
Walking over to Liam, Kasey held out her hand for him to take. “Well, good.”
Liam cracked a smile and took her hand, “Come on then.” He led them over to the doors and pushed them open. Booths sat along one wall and other tables were positioned in the middle. To the left was a bar, drinks being sold and a man with dusty blonde hair greeted them.
“Hey there!”
Kasey smiled at the man after taking a quick glance around. “Hi. Um… Liam, should we get a table or a booth?”
Liam shrugged, "Whichever you want babe." He was about to say something else when a tall brown haired man appeared and grinned at Liam.
"Liam! Welcome back mate!" He said, pulling him into a hug which Liam returned.
"Nice to see you again, Cole."
Kasey waited quietly for Liam to introduce her, simply offering a small smile to the guy – Cole. He must be the one Liam had told her about on the way.
"And you must be Kasey," Cole gave her a friendly smile, holding out his hand for her to shake, "Nice to finally meet you."
"Yes, I am. It's nice to meet you, too," Kasey said as she shook his hand. "Liam's told you about me, then?"
Cole nodded and slipped his hand into his pocket, "Mainly cheesy romantic stuff I'm sure he's said to you before. I won't embarrass him too much." He chuckled and Liam shook his head a little.
Kasey blushed slightly and glanced over at Liam with a raised eyebrow. "Oh, really?"
Liam rolled his eyes, "Really. Now if you'd excuse us friend we would like to decide what we want to eat." Cole chuckled and nodded.
"Alright. Talk to you later."
"Let's sit at a booth," Kasey said, a hint of laughter lining her voice. "Also… I would kind of like to hear what you say about me."
