Blaine glanced back up at Andion. "It's the only place we've thought of. Honestly, it'll be fine."
Blaine glanced back up at Andion. "It's the only place we've thought of. Honestly, it'll be fine."
Andion still looked unconvinced but nodded slowly, “Okay… but one sign of discomfort from you and we leave.”
"Trust me, there will be plenty," Blaine muttered, rolling her eyes. "But we won't leave until we have to. We need to finish this."
“Blaine…” Andion took her hand in his, “Please, we really don’t have to do this.”
"Andion, trust me, I'll be fine," Blaine assured him, looking directly into his eyes. She sighed and pulled her hand from his, rubbing at her face with both hands. "Do you want to know why I'm so reluctant to go there?"
“Yes, but you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want too.” Andion sighed a little.
Blaine paused for a moment, sighing as she buried her face in her hands. She mumbled something incomprehensible through them.
“I couldn’t understand you, Blaine.” Andion said gently.
Blaine sighed again, pulling her hands away from her face. She stared down at them, looking at her fingers.
"It's my old house," she said softly.
Andion sighed and his features softened, “Oh… if you’re sure you want to do this then…”
Blaine nodded and stood, picking up her half empty plate.
"I'm sure," she said in quiet determination. "Let's go, before I can't do this anymore."
Andion nodded and sighed, still concerned about Blaine and if she would properly be find with this. He stood and moved to place his empty plate away.
"Hey, don't worry about me, okay? I'll be fine," Blaine assured him as she put her plate away and gently took his hand.
“If you’re sure, but I’d you need to leave at some point I won’t judge you.” Andion replied, giving her had a squeeze,
Blaine smiled at him before lightly pecking his lips. "Thanks, love. Now… let's go."
“Lead the way.” Andion smiled back, somewhat strained as the worry he was feeling was still there.
Blaine took a deep breath before determinedly making her way out of the guild. She led Andion out of the main part of town, nearing the edge.
Andion followed quietly. He hoped Blaine would be okay. He knew she wouldn’t have suggested this if she couldn’t go but some part of him wished they didn’t, just to be sure she would be okay.
Blaine chewed in her lip more and more the closer they got. If she kept doing it for much longer, aged end up bleeding, but she took no notice of it.
Eventually, they reached a small house made of dark stone, an abandoned garden fenced off in the back. A stone pathway led to the front door, and Blaine forced herself to walk along it.
Andion took Blaine’s han din his, giving it a small wheeze to reassure her that she was okay, and he was right beside her. He took in the house and the garden, assassins it for any dangers like he always did on a mission.
Taking another deep breath and letting it out, Blaine opened the front door and stepped inside. She glanced around, checking for squatters. When she was satisfied it was truly empty, she stepped in farther.
There was a rug on the floor down the main hallway, a small room to the left, and another small room to the right, directly across from the first. Further down the hall was a kitchen, a dining room to the left of it, and then a flight of stairs.
Andion looked around warily, making sure eveything was safe, “So, where to pu the books…”
"Over here," Blaine said quietly, making her way to a shelf in the first bedroom.
The bed was still there, still covered in its pink sheets, though it was filled with moth holes. A vase of wilted flowers sat on the shelf, looking like they would crumble at the lightest touch.
“Was this…” Andion swallowed and walked over to the wilted flowers before turning to Kasey, “Was this your room?” He asked
(Blaine, not Kasey.)
Blaine nodded silently, picking the case up as carefully as she could. Flowers still crumbled and scattered their dust onto the wooden floor as she sat it gently on the ground.
