"Because it pleases me to see everyone else frustrated that I beat them," Blaine chuckled, smiling back at Andion.
"Because it pleases me to see everyone else frustrated that I beat them," Blaine chuckled, smiling back at Andion.
Andion laughed and shook his head, "Yeah yeah, looks like we-"
He was cut of by quite a loud noise of excited and nervous talk of what look to be a group of about 15 children, ranging from ages eight to fifteen. They skidded to a halt outside the door and bombared them with questions.
"Are you really training us today?"
"Is this going to be a regular thing?"
"Why did you wanted to train us? You never do!"
(I don't remember if I told you this, but I'll be out of town this weekend starting tomorrow. I don't know if I'll have access to the internet, but I'll try.)
Blaine laughed and held her hands up to stop the questions.
"Woah woah woah! Hold on there, guys. One question at a time!" she said, smiling.
(Alright that’s fine)
The eldest, a fifteen year old with chocolate coloured hair answered for everyone, “You’ve never trained us before so why now?”
"Just some injuries we feel should heal first," Blaine explained with a shrug. "And I figured that Andion and I would do well to train you all together."
“Actually it was my idea, Blaine,” Andion said, grinning, “But yeah, we decided until we’re both healed, we’ll train you.”
The group of kids beamed and another younger girl spoke, “Then let’s get going!” She said, grabbing Blaine’s hand and leading them all into the training room.
Blaine laughed as she was dragged into the room.
"All right. Where should we start today, Andion?" she asked, looking to him with a smile.
Andion grinned, “Self defence I think. It’s good to know that you can defend yourself even if you don’t have a weapon on you.”
“But we would have some weapon on us, won’t we?” One of the boys said.
"Not always. Some missions require that you carry as little as possible," Blaine explained patiently. "And sometimes that means going without a weapon. Other than yourself, of course."
Another boy raised their hand, “Why don’t you just carry like a really small knife or something?”
"Because in some cases, you want to seem weak, and if you get searched for weapons, then it will get found. If a weapon is found on you, you will automatically be labeled as a threat," Blaine said.
They all nodded in agreement.
“Alright, that’s start then. How about the girls go with Blaine and you guys come with me?” Andion suggested.
"Sounds good to me," Blaine said before waving the girls over to one side of the room. "Come on, we'll start with basic defense so that I can see what you know."
Andion led the boys to the side of the room they were to use and started to teach them what they needed.
Blaine carefully watched as the girls showed her what they knew, gently correcting them when she needed to. With a thought, she left the oldest girl in charge and made her way over to Andion.
"They look good," she remarked upon reaching him. Looking up at him, she smirked. "I had an idea. What if we did a girls-against-boys game?"
The boys and made their way over to the girls, cheering and Andion raised an eyebrow with a sly smile.
“What type of game, might you be thinking of?” He asked, looking down at her, taking a step closer.
Blaine shrugged. "How about a friendly game of tug-of-war?" she suggested with a grin, looking up at him.
"Sure. You guys cool with tug-of-war?" He asked, calling out over to the group of children who, all looked to him with grins on their faces, some cheering and others nodding eagerly.
"Winner plans date number two?" Blaine smirked as she spoke quietly, teasingly running her hand down Andion's arm.
Andion shivered slightly at the touch and smirked right back, "Sure, sounds like a plan." He purred.
"If you love birds have stopped flirting, we'd like to get this game going." The eldest boy called causing the others to giggle. Andion looked up and grinned at him.
"Yes Sir." He said, walking off to find the rope.
Blaine laughed as she walked over to the girls. Gathering them around herself do that they could hear her, she told them her plan.
"All right, girls. While you don't have brute strength in your side, you do have your brains," she said quiet enough that the boys couldn't hear her. "Strategize. Do whatever it takes to win. All you have to do is pull the center of the rope past a marker. You can do this, trust me."
The boys all huddled around the eldest and discussed their tactic in hushed whispers as Andion went and retrieved the rope. Once found, he walked back over and laid it out evenly.
"Here we go. Everyone take their positions." He said, standing back as the boys took their stands on one side of the rope.
"You got this," Blaine encouraged the girls as they walked to there side of the rope and got into position.
She made her way over to Andion and stood beside him, glancing up at him a bit. "Who do you think will win?" she asked quietly, smiling.
"I'm not sure. Let's find out." He gave her a wink before calling Start and the boys started pulling.
The girls started pulling at the call as well, and it seemed as if no one was winning for a while.
"I mean, the boys have strength on their side, but the girls are really smart," Blaine said as she watched the teams pulling. Some of the girls stuck their tongues out at the boys, and she couldn't help the chuckle that escaped.
